I'm in the process of building a fictional route, and I would like to have some locomotives and rolling stock skinned for this route. I flat-out suck at skinning, and was wondering if some talented individual wanted to take on the project of skinning some locomotives, a caboose and perhaps even a few items of rolling stock. I have some color schemes worked out based upon templates from the Railroad Paint Shop website that I can post here if anyone is interested.

RE: Anyone taking requests for fictional locomotive ski

Tell ya what, I'll help but I have not skinned much. So I nead practice to sharpen my skills before Sherman Hill . Don't get me wrong though I have skinned some, but a windows reinstall meant that all kind of went bye - bye. So if you'll have me I can get to work.

That is one nice looking locomotive! I've also checked out some of your work in the file library (and apparently downloaded quite a bit of it already, and I am very impressed. I'm definitely sold on your work! Here's what I need if you are up to it. First of all, here's three linked photos of rather simple color schemes I have worked out for GP/SD diesels, yard switchers and a bay window caboose:Anyone taking requests for fictional locomotive skins? – image 4

The period I am modeling is the 1980s. My railroad is fictional, and runs from Minneapolis, MN to Paducah, KY (only a portion of this will be modeled). Except for a grade east of Oquawka, IL, I don't think I'll be having too many grades on this route, so it doesn't matter whether the GP/SD locomotives have dynamic brakes or not. What I would like for locomotives are: an un-numbered GP-38-2, an un-numbered GP-40-2, un-numbered SD-40-2, an un-numbered SD-45 and an un-numbered SW class yard switcher. I can handle doing the renumbering with one of three different photo editing programs I have on my computer, and besides, I haven't gotten as far as deciding how to classify the numbering of locomotives yet. If you want to throw in some other types of diesels like early GP or SD units, that would be fine as would any rolling stock if you want to tackle that, too. I'll leave that up to you. I would also like an un-numbered bay window caboose. This railroad often washes its units, so they don't have to be too heavily weathered, but I'd like the finish of the locomotives and caboose to be matte instead of gloss. The font I was using in the color schemes is Verdana in bold and italicized type.If you want to e-mail me further about questions or comments, my e-mail address is mitgarand@yahoo.com.

Yo, Adam--you ever get licensed by CSX, or are you just hanging on to that SBD loco for yourself?? If you do get to upload, please kill the ditchlights!!

RE: Anyone taking requests. . .

>Montana Rail Link. #%*$!!! I forgot all about that railroad and its reporting marks of MRL. #%*$!!! Now I've got to find a new railroad name. Uh, Adam, maybe you better not do any lettering on the locomotives until I come up with a new name for my railroad.

RE: Anyone taking requests. . .

I've changed the railroad name to Midwest Rail Corporation with reporting marks of MRC. This time I checked a list of reporting marks before changing the name. This is the new look of the GP/SD locomotives (not much of a change, but it does reflect the new reporting marks):Anyone taking requests for fictional locomotive skins? – image 15
