RE: New WC boxcars

LAST EDITED ON Oct-22-04 AT 11:13 AM (EDT)

The CN bought the WC in 2001. There were payoffs involved in it and it was a "profitable purchase for one man, and a disaster for a good railroad and all its employees". I know a couple CN (WC) engineers, and the buyout of WC is not something you want to talk about around them. They loved the WC, said it was about the best line you could have run for. The roadmasters and crew callers were fair and easy to deal with, they cared about the crews. WC had customer service and an excellent service reputation and lots of business.
Enter CN-
CN pissed away roughly half of WC's business. Why? Because they didnt want to deal with the customers. Some WC fans may remember the Schneider trailers used to run through in great quantities. Ever notice how those are no more?
CN destroyed what was an awesome railroad. They cut traffic almost in half, got rid of a bunch of great rebuilt SD45s to give the vrews beat up, crappy old CN power.
Again, it can all be summed up as I said before-

RE: New WC boxcars

A Engineer for a railroad that gets bought out gets slapped in the face just as heart as a girl you love dont want to talk anymore. it both sucks! but, i feel bad for all the WC engineers. CN didnt do the right thing.
