RE: ATSF Ballast Hopper

Those are probably the ones converted from cement hoppers, if my memory serves me well...

RE: ATSF Ballast Hopper

No those 2-bay 50ton cars were build new as hoppers. ATSF also had four bay 70-tonners and hart-select 70-ton cars. The covered cement hoppers 182000-183000 were a differnent car all together.
I am working on the 2 and 4 bay open hoppers. I'll post some pics in a day or so. I'm cleaning up and reloading MSTS and Gmax on my computer. Once I do that I'll skin the cars and post some shots. AtlanicPacificGarrett

RE: ATSF Ballast Hopper

Cool..I'll be waiting to see them. As for this car, I think I'll change the ballast.ace to coal.ace. It would probably be more realistic.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-01-04 AT 01:03 AM (EDT)

Was just pondering that very idea...I think maybe the best way is to release it with a ballast.ace file and a coal.ace file and you can go into the .s file and change it to make it whichever you want. Should be released by tomorrow.

RE: ATSF Ballast Hopper

Car has been uploaded to Nels today....what I have done is to provide you with 3 versions of the car: empty, loaded with coal, and loaded with ballast; this way all you have to do is choose which one you want in Conbuilder. Hope this makes it easier

RE: ATSF Ballast Hopper

There is apparently something wrong w/ the sd and wag files, because there is a fix listed today in the Microsoft Train Simulator Forum under the title: sf180878.

RE: ATSF Ballast Hopper

There was nothing major wrong with the model, as I tested it before upload; there was, however, a 5th bracket problem and physic problem I overlooked and John was nice enough to post a fix on. You can find the zip file at this link: http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/25400.htmlAgain, apologies for the oversight; I didn't know the original model had those problems.
