Hey Bill...All your recent releases are great... You certainly keep us from getting tired of seeing the same old cars roll by - time and time again... I love seeing some of the smaller railroads that I have never even heard of before... Your quality is top-notch - and - and your effort is greatley appreciated by me... Regards,

RE: To: Boxcar Bill Cline !!!

Well, thanks very much, guys! Glad you're not getting tired of them.At present, I am doing boxcars only. I know Larry Goss will be working on new models some day so until then, I'm pretty much sticking to his 40 and 50 foot boxes. If anyone has a sharp photo of any car they would like me to paint, and if the picture is not taken at such an angle that straightening it with PSP8's Perspective Correction Tool really can't overcome the distortion, I'd be happy to oblige. ahh. that was a good color scheme for them. My Dad loved those boxcars. now there White & Black or the newer Black Guilford ones.
I still see B&M Black and Blue and MEC Yellow & Green boxcars.. but there starting to be repainted.

Hi Shawn,This guy is going up as we speak.I had a great deal of difficulty in getting the roof color correct and never did do it to my satisfaction. Consequently, it has a dark roof and I apologize if it doesn't meet your expectations. We can always try again some day...Bill

Jenna,This little girl is on the way to the lib.I made a few minor changes, especially wanting to get rid of that bright sunlight hitting the down-sun interior. Also, since I did not make an opposite side with the door closed, you'll have to live with the same scene on both sides.I really love doing these little 40 footers. They have much more character than do the monster boxes we see on the rails today.Bill

>today.I couldn't agree with you more. Give me a grimy ABBA set and a long line of dusty, ragged 40-footers and I'm in paradise. I guess there's a certain unassailable magic with whatever engines and cars, and railroads and buildings and so on, were around when we first fell in love with trains... I imagine the state-of-the-art monster cars and diesels we see today are just as magical to today's generation of railfans. Thanks again, Bill! Your cars are a joy to look at. Jenna

RE: To: Boxcar Bill Cline !!!

Curt,Since I had already "washed" 1922 before I got your response, I'm giving you the daily double. #1922 is now clean but #1929 is now the dirty one. I made several other subtle changes in both.I kind of dislike leaving the grafitti on a car because then it is more difficult to set up a train with multiple same cars. The grafitti is just too obvious. However, to each his own. I still run several grafitti-loaded cars.Bill

>id like to see more BAR, SLR, and GRS<At present, I have quite a few excellent photos to work from, from verious people who have taken the time to present them, and I'd like to finish them before I search out RR lines for non-specified cars.I have a tremendous backlog of good photos for just about every major line but still will welcome pics anyone has come across that might make a good model. As for taking roof walks off, I really do not like making any changes to Larry Goss's model...even if I knew how! As I have said earlier, I fully realize that some of my re-paints are inaccurate because of things like the roof walks. At the same time, I really don't want to get too far away from the era I prefer - pre 1970 and therabouts. I'm certainly no stickler for perfect accuracy and frankly, a lot of my work is as it is because I like the car picture I work from.Anyway, again my many thanks for your very nice remarks. I hope my work may continue to please you.Bill Cline

Hi Bill>
>I have a tremendous backlog of good photos for just about
>every major line but still will welcome pics anyone has come
>across that might make a good model. Inspired by your great work, as well as the fine work from many other folks in the community, I've found a fair number of old 40-foot and 50-foot boxcars from the good ol' days and will post them a few at a time, for you if you're interested, and for others to enjoy seeing. Many are from the Elwood Fallen Flags site, so I hope they're not all old news to everyone! I'd love to see them get the full Bill treatment, of course, as they'd make great models, but there's also no hurry whatsoever on any of them (except maybe the NYC Early Bird!) It's always a pleasant surprise when they arrive in the file library! Anyway, here's a few more for now... Enjoy!JennaThere isn't a train I wouldn't take, No matter where it's going.
