I'm re-skinning an RS-36 (my first) and am about done with basics. The unit has a headlight on the cab and in NKP livery, a Mars light on the low nose. It's this light I'm trying to include. I have an idea (actually a template) of a mars light, but how in the world do even START to figure out the x,y & z location to put the light?Attached is what the loco looks like now! Thanks - Dave
Talk with Kelley Ellison. He makes all versions of Mars, Oscitrols, headlights..you name it.He's done my SPs, CGWs, CB&Q's. He'll help you if you ask."If you'll mail him, He will come... "Go to the NALW web page and click on his name.EDIT: Nice looking NKP unit too!Paul Fowler
Thanks for your input, guys. Acutally, I'm working on an RS-36 and GP-35 (the freeware Dekosoft one). I just realized that I have version 1.0, 1.5 and 2,0 of that engine. Mine is based on the 1.5.x version. One has the nose light and the other has the cab light. I'm in business on that loco. I may try to "guess" on the "z" postion from that for the RS-36.BOTH locos are in about the same state so I'll probably finish em at the same time. I may be looking for a beta tester or two before I upload em. Any takers out there?
thanks for the code and offer of the TSM shape. The NKP's mars lights look like headlight mounts on all but the GP-7,9 & 18's. On these, they moved the headlight down and placed a "snoot" over the original hole. This houses the mars light. On all the ones I'm doing, I'll use the existing "headlight".
