RE: Illinois Central SD70 anyone??

Removing the "shadows" from the handrails is a PITA for photo reskins, but it is possible to do with lots of patience (see the Chessie SD40s I did based on Jason Dilworth's early pre-MLT models). I'd say there are multiple ways of removing them and you have to utilize all of them at some point to acheive the effects you want. Copy/Paste may work in some areas, the regular old "paint brush" may work in others, and the "Rubber stamp" tool works well, too. You just have to fiddle with it and you'll go blind in the process, but it sure will be fun!! As for the grills, they differ with each model and you just have to make adjustments (sometimes incremental movements of the whole grill area and sometimes "line by line" movements of small parts of the grill area) until you get to a point where you are satisfied. My CSX SD50s have all sorts of weird mapping areas where a line on the 3D model is not necessarily a "line" on the map or a box on the model is not a box on the map. Like the handrails, you just have to fiddle with it. No reskin is perfect for one reason or another. You either just have to give up repainting, or get it to where YOU are satisfied. Someone will likely complain, but others will be happy and still others will offer constructive comments to help you make it better. Take all 3 into account, knowing that the final product is ultimately up to you.
