Almost done with these,but need some help with a few specific's...Did the CSX sd70m(not ac version)have rear number boards?Every reference pic i have is from the front of the loco.I have 4 sd70's ready #4683(ex emdx unit)#4685"Spirit of Mulberry"#4688 Spirit of Tampa #4699 Spirit of Miami.What type of horn did these units use?I'd like to include a new horn.These units will be clean,and maybe include weathered ace files.Hope ya like em?Oh,there is still the mapping issue with the "blower housing",so you get what ya see.

I tihnk that all the SD70M's had their numbers printed on the rear, as opposed to plastic numberboards w/illumination.Don, these baby's look AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Best CSX repaint (clean) I've ever seen. Now, how about a little weathering ? -Jeffrey

That is a sure download for the Sandpatch route Nice work, I started on a repaint like that but then remembered I didn`t have a licence so....

CSX uses a K5LA horn (but dosn't sound like NS's, it sound more of Amtrak than NS) on these units as long as they are not ex CR's.Rear CSX logo needs to be larger and a little higher up. Check the picture out at the link below.http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=75510Dave

They're certainly not ex-CR, but rather ex-EMD demo units.

Dave,thanks for the link,that's just what i needed All these CSX units are Ex-EMDX units,but not sure if the horns were swapped for another type of horn?Thanks again.

Hey, Don! I believe the numbers are painted on the rear, but not centered like the SD70ACs. There are two, one painted on each side of the center line below the rear headlight. If you go to http://www.trainweb.org/csxphotos/html/SD70DC.html and then click on "4677" you can see the rear of another YN2 SD70M coupled to 4677. Not a perfect shot, but enough for reference. There might be more on this page, but I stopped searching at 4677. Good luck with those great skins!

Thanks Matt for your help,I guess i'd actually have to hear the real thing on a CSX unit to hear the tone of the horn,or just do some more research?I am still decideding if i should go with the CSX K5LA,or what-ever EMD uses?What ever that is?Thanks again.

Hey I absolutly love your work!!! I'm not a big CSX Fan but with a quality paint job like yours, Who Wouldn't???? I also have a huge favor to ask of you. I have tried and tried to make a set of grey scale repaint templates but with no luck at all. Could you please make a set of these for MLT's SD70M at least and maybe a few others. I would really appreciate your kind help!!!Thanks!
