RE: Painting Question

Hmmmm ...In Photoshop, it sounds like a good job for the "Image/Adjust/Color Balance" function: just outline the area and move the sliders to change all the reds to blues. Got anything similar on your toolbar?

RE: Painting Question

No, in PSP you want to click on the area that you want to change the reds (take the entire red area no matter the difference in the hues) to blues, go into Layers, new Adjustment layer, Hue/ Saturation/Lightness, click on the color square then adjust your bars and you will find the blue you are looking for. Then when you click on the ok button, you will notice that all of the reds have changed to blues, with the appropriate hue changes. YOu could even take the entire car and change it all over at once. Try it and you will see what I mean! Every different red will now show it's equivalent blue.Hope this helps.Tim Western Maryland

RE: Painting Question for Stryder47

Actually, no you didn't "done" what they told you. You have to SELECT A SPECIFIC AREA FIRST using the marquee/selection tool, then adjust the sliders. You "done" selected the whole tga/bmp which is why you're getting the weird effects you describe.

RE: Painting Question for Stryder47

Thanks for clearing that up Clayton, perhaps I forgot to tell him to select the specific area first. My error if that is the case. But all of the other posts have said the same thing. But using color instead of hue/saturation/etc is not the way to go as you and I know. Not if he wants all of the rest of that area to become a blue shade that is in the same hue as the original red. If he takes his time with the adjustment bars he will find the color he is looking for. What he needs to do is have the blue he wants right under the pop up and then he will find it. I don't know what else to tell him. I guess I could send him a pic of how it is done, but that is a pain to do. I went through the same thing myself, but I listened and read and listened some more and tried all of the things people were explaining to me and voila, finally I found the right way to do it. So he just has to reread the posts and follow the directions and he will get it.
Anyway, hope so! You said the right things in your reply, now all he has to do is pay some heed to it.TimWestern Maryland

This sounds like a task for CAMstudio 2.0 (A free Screen Capture to AVI tool) http://www.swftools.com/tool-details.php?tool=8162413051"CamStudio is freeware tool that records all screen activity from your Windows Desktop into AVI or Flash (SWF) movie files for use in software demonstrations and active presentations"
