A long while back ago I made a Norfolk Southern high nose SD40-2 that wasn`t 100% of my ability. So I have decided to go back and redo it. So far I have got all the line on one side lined up as best as possible. I did do a little research on High Nose SD40-2`s and found a number for the unit too. Take a look at the picture and tell me what else needs to be fixed other than the lines.
Got the ditch lights on the deck like they were supposed to be. I`m also going to make it so DIM is flashing ditch lights and BRIGHT has the ditch lights on constant. And maybe OFF will have just the headlight, truck, and pilot lights on. One question. Do these units have a brake wheel or a brake handle. These are ex-N&W units.
Andy, nice choice of engines.Few things that make the evaluation a bit difficult: 1. the odd angle (my opinion) is difficult to see much other than the nose. 2. the bright background is distracting, try a screenshot from the sim. Placment of an object in a natural setting always helps (again my opinion). Both are minor considerations. The nose herald appears low for a high hood unit (but this may just be perception due to the angle of the shot). Unit also appears a bit to clean for my taste, otherwise it is coming along nicely. I can not recall the brake wheel/ratchet handle info. Are you sure it is an ex-N&W unit and not an ex-Southern unit? What is the lettering below the number? My advice for the height of the nose herald & the brake info would be to check George Elwood's fallen flags website. Review of the 3200 series engine photos should help with herald placement on the nose & the break info. Ever think of N&W scheme also? It's pretty basic but a nice scheme. Keep up the good work. tctallant
they have brake handles and yes #3237 is ex-Southern but the white letters under the number should say CNOTP which is the locomotive's current owner(at least I think my loco derectory is from 2001) and just for reference NW only owened 10 high hood SD40-2's which where numbered #1625-1635
