LAST EDITED ON Mar-15-04 AT 10:46 AM (EST)

Actually Chris, your wrong.Where did the prototype picture come from? we may have another slight issue with copyright permission here.As well, blue is too dark, yellow is too dark, and its not meant to be white.

The Image you see came from the www.railfan.net
and the painting came from another image from the same place. If it's too dark it can be lightend up a bit.Isn't that the Idea of this game to make other engines and cars that we see in pictures. I have seen and Downloaded hundreds of cars and engines that are current equipment as well as obsolete equipment. So what's the point here. Even stuff that's obsolete still has copyrights to it. It's not like we are gonna sit down on the phone and call these companies for permission to use thier colors for our game.I spend countless hours doing these things just like the next guy.ED

Point me to the exact link you have of the file please. Because, I know where it came from, I know who's it is. And I have a higher res version of the same picture on my machine. Only reason you posted this version is because you had it resized to match the 100k file attachment limit for this site.As well I know more of where the pic came from.Might have to go hunting at http://www.greatlakesrail.com in the rail photography forum more.Where you made this specific post.http://www.greatlakesrail.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1725In fact here is the series of pictures the one came from.http://www.greatlakesrail.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1519Any questions concerns Great Lakes Rail member #201?email me at webmaster@greatlakesrail.com sometime before you do something like this again!Jon

Yeah, the two units (1400 and 1401) have gotten around....They're currently running on GEXR in Southern Ontario. I think they were handling some of the plow runs for a bit.DanAbsolute power corrupts absolutely.

I believe that Particular Unit Started Life as A CP Rail unit, transferred to VIA, Then to Rail America

Reminiscing VIA LRC's in their Glory Days.

Actually they're both ex CN units.RLK 1400: CN 6539->VIA 6539-->VIA 6303---> RLK 1400.RLK 1401: CN 6523-> VIA 6523-->VIA 6312---> RLK 1401.They both were out on the Mackenzie Northern Ry then transfered to the GEXR.

RE: Rail Link, Rail America

Hi All,Here is the finished F7 rendition of the Railink scheme....a few flaws with the paint and insignia, but bearable....I am going to e-mail TA today and see if they will allow release onto TS file library even though to get this scheme to work you'll have to get the F7 from TA.Rick

RE: Rail Link, Rail America

Hi All,Cyrus Lum of Train Artisan gave permission to upload the Railink repaint here on Train Sim so it is uploading as I type....you will still need to obtain the F7 from TA's site www.trainartisan.com for it to work....Rick

RE: Rail Link, Rail America

Hi Guys, unfortunately as I stated before I did the re-paint, you have to have the F7A from Train Artisan...this requires at least a $5.00 donation to a charity listed on their website to become an active member of TA...after that you can get the F7A from their file library and then use the re-paint I have created....it's not a perfect solution for you all but the donation helps a good cause and TA's work is excellent....and you will get access to more than just the one F7A....I am not promoting the donation idea by doing this re-paint directly but I have donated myself and reaped all the great models TA has done...and have enjoyed them all. I as most of you want this hobby to be a freeware sort of thing but on occasion a little money lost here or there is bearable to get some things that are well designed models for the TS community. If you can't find the donation link on the TA website, contact Cyrus Lum at TA acylum@bga.com and ask him to point the way and explain it for you.Sorry about the trouble this is causing but I enjoy the ease of re-painting TA models.Rick
