Graffiti – image 1

Hi all,Without entering into arguments about the ethics of graffiti, I thought I'd do this quick reskin. It is an Australian grain hopper, which I photographed an hour ago, and converted into an MSTS skin as an experiment.Cheers,
Matt

RE: Graffiti

well, it is a nice thing to see that this in not just a problem on american railroads, I think it can be interesting to try to figure out what some of it says, I have a freind who is a detective with a local police force, and a rail fan, he can always read that stuf, and I have no idea how.Check Out the WVK&O Railways Homepage http://www.angelfire.com/fang/dark_viper/page6.html

I think it is some alien code or the graffiti writers are just communicating to each other in their own language. Seriously, I can't read them either so don't feel alone. Personally, I won't have one on my machine but that is a personal thing. Actually, the ones posted above by our Australian trainsim friend is very well done. My congrats for having the talent and fortitude to be able to do it so well. And gee, I thought this was a purely American thing.
Ahhh, we are truly a global community now then. This sort of makes it official, wouldn't you say? RangerWestern Maryland Railroad

What? They are grafitti artist calling cards. Saying "I DID THIS" or this is my "crew".Usually they are Artist or even GANG names or "logo's" if you want to call them that. Sometimes they are "jokes" even. I always find grafitti amusing in an odd sort of way... I dislike it.. but often it's also very artfully crafted.Pete Willard

RE: Graffiti

I`d like to know how they can afford to buy the paint, it would take a few cans to spray the sides of the hoppers, maybe Freight Australia should contract out to these "artists" next time the fleet needs a new coat of paint. Could end up with some interesting results.Stew aka 6330trainfan

RE: Graffiti

I know this is skating on the thin ice of being deleted for not being OT, but I've always admired the work of many of the pavement artists you can see around and about. And to think they can't take it with them when the day's over!! Maybe this temporary art is a better solution compared to grafitti art as it has such a short duration and does far less damage.Anyway, quick! Back to trains!Cheers
