Conrail Desert Storm and Olympic SD50s

With the SD60s out the door, here's my next locomotive project...Just a couple of quick questions, though...Does anybody happen to have photos of the roof of the 6707 that show whether or not the yellow ribbon goes across the roof? Also, I couldn't find any good photos of the US Cycling Federation logos on the nose and rear of the 6726. If someone could help me out with either of these, I'd be grateful.Bruce Bridges

Not to knock your repaint because I do think it looks great but I believe the US cycling road trials logo was only applied to a SD40-2 assigned to the Cresson helper pool. Other than that I love your repaints and keep up the great work.Kevin

There was an SD50 in the same scheme that ran system-wide. I saw it several times in the Anderson, IN area.

Be very, very careful distributing anything that has to do with the Olympics or the USOC. We've had this controversy before involving the UP Salt Lake City SD-70s. Someone (NALW I think) made them but I think they caught some grief from USOC,and weren't ever distributed, at least not yet. You might be OK cause you don't have an Olympic logo on them. Still, they're very, very touchy about anything that even has the word Olympic on it. I personally see it as a free speech issue, but the USOC doesn't see it that way. Grizzly

So what would the USOC do about flight-sim aircraft painted for Greece's Olympic Airways then? This airline has absolutely NOTHING to do with the sports competition. However, their planes are lettered OLYMPIC on the fuselage... and the airline's logo on the tail is the Olympic rings!!!

John,Do you think I'll get sued for releasing the 6726 since it has the word "Olympic" painted on it?Also, I've got a few detail questions... actually, they're the only thing keeping me from releasing these.1. Does the yellow ribbon on the 6707 go across the roof?2. Are there any good close-up photos of the USCF shields on the ends of the 6726?3. Were these units fitted with ditch lights before being repainted into Conrail Quality?Thanks!Bruce Bridges
