Hi everyone, The Full Bucket Line F40's are almost ready, but I need your help, I know a lot of you are Full Bucket users, so I would like input from you on a few choices, the biggest is should I paint the roof orange or leave it black ? Next, how many should I make, I thought maybe 6, but if that is too much for dile up users I could split it into packs of 2 or 3. Also dose anyone have any problem with me using the 600 series for the F40PHs, nobody has used it yet as far as I know. If anyone has any sugestions please let me know, Don't be afraid to tell me if you see somting that needs changed, I would like to make this locomotive best sutied for everyone. I welcome any comments, good or bad.

My opinion would be to make the top part orange and not leave it black. The orange would look better than the black white and orange, and either 3 or 4 would probably be alright. Also do you have any other fbl equipment in the works, like some gp's or dicks sd50-60 series? If you do i would deffinately like to see some pics of those to if you dont mind. Keep up the awesome work man!!Full Bucket F40PH almost ready – image 4

I say leave the top black. It looks better to me that an orange top.If you left the top black are you going to add the exhaust smudge that would surely collect from the diesel exhaust? Three locos of this model should be enough. Are there ditchlites on these units or have they been cut out?

RE: Full Bucket F40PH almost ready

This is NALW's model, it's just my re-paint, It dose not have ditch lights, and the roof is exactly the same as the Amtrak P40PH, since that is where this came from. I could upload a few with black roofs and a few with orange, and yes I am planning to make a FBL SD60 spartin cab, but I have to finish this first. I am also planning a few freight cars for the FBL, such as USAF boxcars for the Full Bucket Proving grounds, and FBL coil shields. I don't think I could wether them very well as I only have MS Paint' although I might be able to pull something off.Check Out the WVK&O Railways Homepage http://www.angelfire.com/fang/dark_viper/page6.html

In my opinon (i think i spelled it wrong) make the top orange with exhaust on the top. Move the numbers down towards the right just a tad. Maybe make them the 100 or 200 series. Other than that it looks fine to me.-MattATSF GP60M #104 works on the local in Flagstaff, AZ.

Leave as is,BLACK.Saves you the hassle of having to smudge the top for the exhaust affect.Adjust the lights accordingly and post these babies.

RE: Full Bucket F40PH almost ready

I think the black looks fine but I agree that the number on the side of the cab should be moved down slightly and to the right. Other than that looks good to me for what you have. I personally don't like the white in it, but that is just me. I would have made it black, a more grayish black if you understand what I mean. But you did a nice job on it no matter what the colors. It is your creation, you do it your way. You can't please everyone here, believe me. They will either like it or not. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as it is done well, people will download it.
Oh, yeah, I agree with another poster, too many other lines use the 600 series, go with 100 series or just something different.
Nice job overall. RangerWestern Maryland Railroad

Follow the method i did on the FBL F-units, Top orange, fade it a bit, Remember Black absorbs heat, who needs heat in the desert? if anything make a dirty white roof. Also, My 2cents, the FBL would never have obtained F40's, But that's me. everyone is more then welcome to add there addictions. But if they wish to be on the roster, it's preferred they consult me on the matter, as I maintain the roster and FWIW, the FBL history.600~612 for F40's, if need numbersShawn K,

You are right about the black absorbing heat in the desert. Hadn't thought of that. But somehow I knew you would disagree with me about the numbering, or anything else for that matter.
Strange, we used to be pretty tight when we were in the train-sim chat room years ago. Have I done something to you since coming back that I don't know about? Sure would like to know, as I am a big fan of you guys at TKW and have always tried to get along with those people from my chat room days.
Just curious!RangerWestern Maryland Railroad

RE: Calm down.. Calm down.. the FBL Expert is here

What a difference. The orange and white look great, much better than the black with it. The moving of the number looks better too. The only thing I have a problem with is that it looks so bare on the nose. I realize you have the cactus there but it just looks bare, like there should be something else there. Maybe it's just me.
But I am really amazed that the orange looks so good on the top and bottom, with the white. Very nice job, in any event.RangerWestern Maryland Railroad
