Here's my repaint of Dick Cowen's new SD50/SD60 as Conrail 6842.Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 1Unfortunately, I CANNOT get rid of that pesky roof beacon!!!! Believe me, I tried. I modified the alpha channel as instructed in order to remove it, and when I view the texture in TGATool2, the part of the image mapped to the beacon shows a black alpha channel as it should in order for the beacon to be removed. The only other way I can think of to get rid of it is to hack the shape file itself. Does anybody know how to do this?

RE: Conrail SD60

Sorry for the multiple posts... when I posted the message, I got an error saying that the server didn't receive the information. Apparently it did anyway.

Looks very nice. Do you plan on doing any other repaints with the SD50/SD60? If I may suggest an NS repaint? I tryed my hand at it last night, but it didn't turn out right. NS4Life

RE: Conrail SD60

Try this. Install MakeAceWIN, if you haven't already. After you edit the .ace suing TGATTool2, click "save as," and assign a file name with a .tga suffix and save the file as a .tga. Exit TGATool2, open MakeAceWIN and use it to convert the .tga back to an .ace file.

That's the way I had to do it for those size files too. Anyway, I always save whatever I am doing to a tga file first from within tgatool2, just in case. And just in case has saved my butt a lot of times.RangerWestern Maryland Railroad

RE: Conrail SD60

Sure thing. And my guess is "using" TGATool2 turned out better than "suing" TGATool2! Appreciations to Gray Horninger (GaryH2), who tipped me to this.

RE: Conrail SD60

Hiya John, will take whatever you make buddy. I know it will be good. And an SD50 or 60 would be fine. When you get time, give me a PM and your email address. I lost all of my email addresses while I was out sick. Would like to correspond again and see how things are going for you now. Have moved into the city of Bristol now, so don't live in the same place you visited me. They sold the place on us. A real shame as this place is way too small for us all and I hate being in the city, but all we could find on short notice. The only good thing is I am close to the NS rail line and can hear them whistle every night. Also a small NS yard about a quarter mile down the road. If we ever have a good day (and I am beginning to doubt it) I will take some pics and post them.Anyway John, PM me so I can email you, buddy. Missed you while I was gone from here.Ranger (aka Tim, aka zhivago47)Western Maryland Railroad
