RE: NW 2 Bay Problems

All i do is put the ace file in paint repaint it then save as a bmp. Next i open up tgatool2 and open the bmp in there then export ace (no alpha) and it works.-MattATSF GP60M #104 works on the local in Flagstaff, AZ.

You can't do alpha channels in MS Paint. the .bmp format will not support them. You need to get Paint Shop Pro as Enocell says. I have it, and wouldn't turn back to paint now. You can do a LOT more with it.

RE: NW 2 Bay Problems

You can do alphas in paint with the help of TGATool, it sends the alpha down as a bmp. You just dont have the same amount of flexibility in MSPaint as one of the others.

You need to get the alpha layer back. You can open the original texture with TGAtool and save the mask from it. Then load it to your repaint.
I'd recommend you to use some program which supports alpha/transparency. PSP7 or later for example (but I didn't like the v8 because it's so slow and clumsy).

you can't save it as ACE NO ALPHA and still retain an ALPHA CHANNEL... it's kinda like saying "NO!YES!" You need to retain the ALPHA when you save it, not lose it like you told MAKEACE when you saved the file back.Pete Willard
