Put this skin together this afternoon of Larry Goss's new 40ft boxcar model from a photo Jake Mensel provided me with. This is low-quailty jpeg of it in shape viewer, looks much better in game. Should be in the file library later this week. Coming soon is a NYGL boxcar with ALAB markings and another NW boxcar.NW 40ft MofW boxcar – image 1-----------------------------NW 40ft MofW boxcar – image 2

RE: NW 40ft MofW boxcar

Excellent job, Kyle! I wish more of us would use Larry's new model for repaints.Question: Is the brakewheel on the side of the car painted on or did Larry make that part for you? I have several photos of cars with the brake wheel located there but really hate to show it as painted. Maybe if Larry is listening, he can whip up a clone of his new model with that wheel in 3D.I'd do it but since Larry works in GMAX and I work in TSM...never the twain shall meet.Bill Cline

RE: NW 40ft MofW boxcar

>That wheel is painted on. It's actually used to open the
>door rather than for the brakes. Hmmmm...maybe I'm missing something. The door looks like it slides to the right as it opens. At least that's the way the tracks on the side make it appear. If that is the case, how does the door open without the wheel getting in the way?

>The Wheel rides on that middle rail, as you turn it, it
>spins the gears making the door open, and the wheel moves
>along with the door. Thanks, appreciate the answer. As much CSX MOW stuff I've seen running around here I'd never seen anything like that not that I should since it is an NW piece of equipment.
