I know that I can convert 512 textures into 1024 using PSP. Heres my question. Before I go and start screwing up all my models. Using TSM the biggest texture I can get into the modeling program is 512x512. If I convert the 512 textures into 1024 will this screw up there placment on the model? I'm really not sure of the concept. Like I said I don't want to go through and screw up the mapping on all my models by changing them to 1024x1024. I also doubt that it is as simple as changing sizes and the reconverting them into and ace file. Or maybe it is....

Hey Keith, it is actually as easy as changing their sizes and converting them to ace files again. Go ahead and model and map your locos with the 512 x 512 textures. Once you are done, resizing them to 1024 x 1024 will not cause any problems at all. Do note though, that you can map your loco to use 512 x 512 ace files and get a good quality like you would with a 1024 x 1024 size ace file.... you'll just use more 512 x 512 size files! Edit: One thing I did miss.... Simply resizing the ace file from 512 to 1024 won't improve the quality of the texture. It is better to scale your images down than up because of the pixelation that occurs when scaling up. So, in short, if you are working from pics then you need to have large images to work with if you are going to use 1024 size textures. Or... if you are making your textures from scratch, you may have to do them all over again to get the detail you desire.Hope this helps.... if you don't understand send me a PM.

Thanks Kyle! I'll take a shot at it and see how it comes out!
