Hello everyone, I have noticed that nobody has yet to create a Norfolk Southern SD9 so I have decided to do so. I belive there are a few still in service. The last roster I saw still had a few. Anyhow I was wondering if anyone has any pictures that could help me and if anyone knows what locomotives are still in service, if any. If you have any other info on NS SD9s that would also be great.Happy Rails
I beleive all of the few SD9s lef tin service are actually SD9ms afte rbeing upgraded, but have almsot the same exterior appeirance. Anyway they're numbered in the 50-series (53, and 56 i've seen before)--------
What I've Felt, What I've known, Never shinned threw in what I've shown. Never Free, Never Me, So I dub Thee Unforgiven
The Series is 50-59, and the official designation is SD9M. Many of them have had their MU equipment removed. They also don't have dynamic brakes. We don't have a Non-Dynamic SD9 here, or i'd have attempted to do one already.
Thank you for pointing out that they had no dynamic brakes. I hadn't even realised that. I guess it will have to be put on hold untill someone creates a non dynamic break SD9. There is still a low number of High Short Hood NS units in the file library though. I guess I will have to re-skin a SD40 or somthing.Happy Rails
