Sure , I will run out and do it now , how many do you want a little tip , People arround here DO NOT like posts like yours that ask people to make things for them , if you want that engine then go to the bottom of this page , click file library and type in the name of the locomotive , if one does not come up them find a locomotive that is like that and get the proper stuff that you need to paint it ( list is in a thread near the top of this forum ) and do it your self.

sorry if i may have offended anyone with my simple request for one loco. to be skined...i sure was not expecting such an arrogant and hostile reply such as this....i have not posted in this forum in such a long time, but it seems to me that when i first started up in this forum some years back that people, providing they had time, would would be more then willing to help in such a request from someone who does not have the money to run out and buy programs such as adobe paintshop and such for anywhere from 50.00 to 100.00 dollars. Seems thing have changed since the days when i used to post in here....Not like i was asking someone to drop everything and start my loco NOW or anything...

You do make a very good point. I've been around here since basically the begining and the forums have definately become more unfriendly, argumentative and hostile than they used to be. I've always wondered if a "request forum" might be a good idea. People who want something, but don't know how to make it could post their requests there. Modellers, painters, etc. who are looking for a project could browse the forum to see if anything there gets their interest up. Doing this would keep request posts off the tech forums. If any mods read this thread, please post if you think this might be a good idea, I'd be interested to hear.Grizzly

This might not be what Nels is looking for, but it sounds like a good idea to me that there be a request forum - titles of which could go like: "Model Request: 3-Truck Shay" or "Paint Request: Rail America Geep." Another benefit would be for a modeller/skinner getting a handle on what might be a popular request - especially in regards to any missing rollingstock. It also allows for a safe haven for requesters and modellers/skinners in discussing any limitations for creating such a model (articulation, etc.) or paintwork (lack of suitable photos, etc.).Cheers!

That sounds like a great idea also....I wouldn't mind doing a repaint for someone ONCE in a while...a request forum like that would allow us to "jump in" on a request at OUR choice and would not unwittlingly hurt someone's feelings if we don't. My vote would be YES....

In Bill's defense,he is asking, not demanding.
Generally the request posts that get the flames brought upon them are usually the demand posts("someone skin this for me!")
We each have our own strengnths and weaknesses when it comes to MSTS,I can skin rolling stock fairly well and can 3D model to a fairly good degree but in my case signals are out of my range(can't grasp the scripts to save my life)and don't even mention something animated other than the items animated by default.Gary S

Sorry guys , I did not mean to be Mean/Rude , I was just giving the same answer I got when I asked for something , I was also trying to give a tip so that he would not get flamed even more ( Have seen it happen ) for just asking , I know that you were not trying to demand anything and I know you did not want people to drop everything and start on that . I am truly sorry for the fact that it seemed rude . And last , the first part was just a joke ( Note the Smiley ) and I was not serious . You also do not need any special programs to do it like Paint shop or photo shop , something like this would be very easy to do in something like MS paint wich should have came with your computer , Once again , I am very sorry

Yes but why be like some of the others who jump on someone for wanting something painted. I painted my own request of the Kyle engines and seem to just get alot of flack over it. Well I did a crapy job. Now that I have painted it lets see someone else paint one just to see if they can do better at the engine that I painted. BTW good look finding the hareld as there was only One that I could find that was fair enuf to use.

Nothing to apologize for,I was simply pointing out that we don't really want to discourage polite requests as sometimes new blood or those that may be a bit weak in certain MSTS ability categories can still come up with ideas that some of us grizzled MSTS oldtimers have the ability to do but haven't thought of.

I will skin it if you can provide better Photos. Go get some photos and use the email link here and send them to me and I will try to see what I can do with them.
I too am sick of people being so hostile to requests.
I have done one of Rail Americas units before ( The KYLE shortline ran by Raill America) and would gladly do this paint at no charge.
It will not be the best but it will be with in my abilities.
Below is an example of one of my Rail America Engines.
However finding a GP38 high nose may take a little and If I cant find a sutable one would you except a GP9 done in that liveory?Don Pottorff

Hey all...sorry if i may have over reacted to this topic. Just get tired of all the crap when someone requests something. I simply don't have the talent to do repaints and things so I tend to look elsewhere for things. Anyhow sorry Shane...I just reread what was said by both of us earlier and realized that I probably over reacted....was in a bad mood to begin with.Rick, thats a pretty nice looking unit in such a short amount of time...is it up in the library yet...
would not matter because i seem not to be able to download anything from the site all of a sudden....don't know what it is, but it seems like when i click start download i get a screen that says i am not autherized to access the site lol...strange.Hey Don, if you still want i will try to get you somemore shots of it next week sometime....I live only about an hour away from Elma, which is the PSAP's home base.Anyway thanks all and sorry to Shane for my comments before...
