RE: Alpha channel

If you have created the Alpha channel and it is ready for reloading, what you need to do is just save it and it should reload back into the TGATool program, you must use the Save function and not the Save As function. You didn`t mention your graphics program, but if you click on the File tab then the Save button then all should be okay.
Once back in the TGATool program save the template with the alpha channel then export it.Stew aka 6330trainfan

RE: Alpha channel

Create alpha template and create alpha channel are two separate options. The create alpha template option should result in a greyscale image of your colored bitmap. If you use the create alpha channel that is exactly what you get, but no piccie.mervyn.

RE: Alpha channel

Thanks for the help. After I posted the message I figured out what was wrong, but it didnt work like I wanted. What I am tring to do is make the windows on a passenger car where I can see through them. Any suggestions on how to do this, I have already made the alpha channel for the car (black where light should pass thru and white where it dont) but I still cant get the windows to where you can see thru them.

Did you export as "Ace(Alpha)"?
What do you mean you can't get thw windows to where you can see through them? Do you mean, instead of the windows that are transparent, another part is transparent instead? That you should adjust where the black/grey should be placed.

Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...

RE: Alpha channel

No the car looks like it should. The windows on the car were colored as blue on the original its just you cant see thru the windows when the car is loaded into train sim.

RE: Alpha channel

That may be a result of the material properties of the carbody. There are one or two models like that, because they do not have an inside, which means that when you look through the window, you do not see the other side, you see the background scenery.mervyn.
