Can't getoff the SP daylight kick. This time I am trying to variants of the SD40-2 #7342. Based on MSTS SD40-2 (updated v1.2?). Obviously I could not get the Mars light or the nose light horizontal placed unless someone has an idea. What I call phase 3 has the lettering on the brakeman's side in scarlet and the engineer's side in white. I believe this is correct. Anyone have a texture map of this model? This time I tried the colors by layering. And still trying to work on the other upload delema. Appears like I can't get away from the smilies too.Dwight......
It was an ugly scheme, only saw it once down here and it got your attention. BTW, SP didn't have SD40-2's.Kevin Arceneaux DEFAULT IS FOR DUMMIES Cry havoc and Let slip the dogs of war. Lone Wolf Activities Forum and Activity Packs are on www.3DTrains.com
I kinda liked it..bhut I am glad espee didn't use it. BTW..for reference, when you see red letters on teh SP units, it is because the white lettering peeled off and it showed the primer under it, making peeps think it was red paint. Usless trivia I know....LOL Later!

Well I guess this ain't gonna be a popular reskin. After reading an article in "Extra 2200 South" (early 80's) the few engines repainted into daylight colors were a corporate image experiment. Also stated that the last repaint of 7342 was an experiment with the lettering. One side was in scarlet and the other side was in white. SP's corporate finances at the time were at an all time low so I guess the cost of repainting an entire fleet with 4 different colors outweighed the cost of two colors and the fleet at the time was almost all peeling except for the 7342 which went back to Dark Lark and Scarlet. No such thing as usless trivia BTW: Did you get my e-mail about the Mars light?Dwight........
