Hello!I am in the process of skinning some D9-44CW's for BNSF. How do I alpha the cab headlight or otherwise get rid of it. I tried alpha channel on the texture, but the shape still shows in the sim. Any suggestions?Bob

You and I have the same idea. Simple answer, there is no way to get rid of the shape, except to do just what you've done, and paint it the body color.Help with NALW D9-44CW – image 3

And when these get released, they will come in 4-packs of each paint, except the H2 units, which will come out in 2 different 4-packs.Chris Denbow - Baltimore, MD

Hello! Thanks for the quick response! I was hoping there would be a better fix. Great looking units Chris! I hope you will be able to upload soon. I have been tweaking the textures some more, not quite happy with the sidesill area. Lots yet to do, and a H2 in the works also! Here are some more pics. Thanks again!Bob

RE: Help with NALW D9-44CW

Looking good.
Although to be 100% correct it'd need to have the special roof shape that only ATSF/BNSF C44s have (to my knowledge). Like the default Dash9 and Justin Cornell's model. But I guess that'd mean creating a new .s-file. But I think JensChris is working on an upgrade of the GE-pack, so maybe a replacement for the default Dash9 will be included then?

>But I think JensChris is working on an upgrade of the GE-pack, so >maybe a replacement for the default Dash9 will be included then? When? There's no way that he's working on an upgrade right now. He's working on the EMD's right now, along with school, and life.I asked him about doing a BNSF/ATSF version, with the gullwing cab and one with pilot-mounted ditches (for ATSF) and a BNSF/ATSF specific Dash 8W model, and he said that he might of he had time, since the new roof would require a new texture, and I believe this was all in the middle of the Big Boy and Challenger projects.I'm not too worried about it. I'm picky, but I also work with what I've got, and that's J-C's great model. If I can deal with pilot-mounted ditches on my CSX CW44AC's, then I can deal with a BNSF gullwing-less cab. RE: Help with NALW D9-44CW

I think it was in JonN's (in)famous thread where he criticised the texturing of NALW's GE-models that JC mentioned he was planning an update. I think other NALW people also has mentioned this. So I worded myself badly.. It should be "I think JensChris is PLANNING an upgrade" not "working on" an upgrade.Still, I'm with you I can live with a gullwing-less BNSF C44 for now.
