Paging Dadbill: C&O F7A 7033 Help – image 1

I'm in the process of finally installing some more of your most excellent fleet of C&O/B&O car body diesels, and I've run across something that I wanted to clarify:In regards to the three files which are in the library for this (c&of7033.zip, co7033.zip, and co7033-3.zip), how do I go about installing all of these, assuming that I only want to have one 7033 floating around at any one point in time, regardless of paint scheme? There are a few too many ace files for me to casually throw the things in there without caution, 'cause the last time I tangled with ace files, I wound up with more trouble than trains. Thanks for having produced so much that I have to figure this out!

While I'm at it, I've found a similar problem for C&O F7A 7000. I've got cof7000.zip, oxi7000.zip, and co-7000.zip; I'd appreciate any guidelines you've got for their installation. Thanks again!

I'M HERE!The way these engines work is, you unzip them using folder names, and everything should go into the one engine folder for that particular engine. This series of engines are multiple-paint scheme with batch files for switching between them. My very first GP7 engines worked this way, and the F7s were my second series released early in 2002. I'm sorry if I didn't state in the readme (found in the 'docs' folder), to 'unzip using folder names', but this was only my third release. Paging Dadbill: C&O F7A 7033 Help – image 3The 7000 features the single headlight 'high wave' paint scheme and the slightly 'lowered wave' scheme. Both are included.
The 7033 features the double headlight slightly 'lowered wave' scheme and the simplified paint scheme.
Both have B units.

Thanks for your response! I reckon I'm just uncertain when dealing with four different zip files which all interact somehow to form one single engine. Thanks for providing the painting options, though! I'm having fun mixing and matching with the things; right now I'm looking at 7000 with the "Oxidized2" textures, and whew, it's an old one!Keep up the good work---if you're not too busy, you could always design the M-1 snd The Chessie.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-09-03 AT 01:37 PM (EDT)

I always try to stay in touch with everyone who has a request or question. Sorry I got to yours late.
Further on in the releases I began including the entire path in the zip so all anyone would have to do is unzip it to the drive letter MSTS is installed (for those who have it installed on any place other than C ).
Were you the guy that requested the 2732? I think I made it the same way, where you would unzip to the drive letter MSTS is installed on and it would drop it into the existing Berkshire folder.

No sweat on the turnaround time. The installation procedure you've got in mind works well; I just got the feeling that I was in danger of not going the way you wanted it done and thus ending up with suspect results. Yeah, I requested C&O K-4 2732, and you delivered---thanks! For what it's worth, 2732's claim to Train Simulator fame is that she's probably the first steam locomotive used in open multiplayer (using MP3.1, for what that's worth), albeit with PRR heavyweight coaches.Keep up the good work! I'm amazed at the appearance of B&O 1468; it's a very good representation of what I saw in a picture book recently.

Yeah, that's another one that has three different paint schemes in the same folder with batch files to switch them.
Bill Hemb recently made a beautiful C&O E8 and passenger cars.
Or if you have the C&O passenger train I made, it comes with TA streamliner cars repainted in C&O colors. I also made a two-door and a three-door heavyweight baggage car, and heavyweight passenger cars that will go well with a Berkshire.Good Luck!
