Aug-07-01, 02:19 AM (EST) "Help with added Locomotives" Hello all,I downloaded a bunch of reskinned and new locomotives and cars. The NEW locomotives I got (Auran DDUP and UP switcher) work great, but the reskinned locomotives don't seem to want to be working. I follow the directions included and such, but when I go to add them to a consist with the MSTS editor, I cannot select the locomotive...I recieve an error stating the .s file can't be found. I found a few that were calling the wrong .s file in the .sd and .eng files. I fixed that and got a few to allow me to select them and they showed the little preview in the consist editor, when when I tried to launch the consist it could not launch the .eng file for some reason.Anyone else had problems with this? I'd like to use my spiffy reskinned models but can't seem to. FWIW all my cars (frieght and passenger) work just fine.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Nate Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-07-01, 03:04 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Help with added Locomotives" The s sd and eng files must all have the same name. This name appears in the eng file 3 times and the sd file one time. It must be consistant. Some downloads reqiure you copy the cabview and sound file from the default locomotive. Some downloads require a particular loco has to have been previously downloaded. For example most of the new F7s require that the f7_demo has to be in yor trainset folder as they link to it. Some downloads require the default locomotives have to be in the trainset folder as they link to it. (You should never change or rename any thing in the default locos). If none of the above helps give me a specific example of a loco you are having a problem with.

Aug-07-01, 03:41 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Help with added Locomotives" Thanks. I was mostly having problems with Dash9 and GP38-2 reskins. I copied the Cabview and Sounds folders over where indicated, and didn't touch the default locos. I will check the names of the .s .sd and .eng files to make sure they are all correct. Will try this out this evening.Nate Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
