Put 'em up! I've got a big blank spot on the roster spreadsheet for Seaboard stuff, and that'll be a useful filler.

RE: Are there any Seaboard Airline Fans out there??

From what I can tell--the 35's were all brown and the 40's were the pea green color. I was planning on doing 5 brown and 5 green--all GP35's #'s 535 to 544. I have pictured 535 and 540 here. If ya'll think 10 is too many--let me know--10 is the entire SAL roster of GP35's. Jim

RE: Are there any Seaboard Airline Fans out there??

I've got a big spot in my roster for Seaboard stuff, also remembering the jolly green giants running through Raleigh some years back. I've got them and the SDP-35's (Atlas versions) in my HO layout. And, by the way, it isn't brown, it's like a pullman green on the darker units. That was the colors they used on most of their freight locomotives right up until the merger. Please upload them. I'm sure they will find use, especially as pertains to the A line route now being redeveloped by the SCL/CSX A-line group.

Yes, they do. However, having seen them first hand when I was growing up and having some models of them, I do know they're a shade of green, almost like olive drab. I do have some books on them with photographs, etc. at home. I'll double check to be sure. By the way, if you have access to a HO Proto 2000 GP 9/18 or the Atlas SDP 35, they're pretty darn close to the color of the real thing.

ok Steve, No arguement here. What color would you say is the color of the 3 engines in the last pic I posted. Just curious as they all 3 look dirty brownish/black to me, with a light yellow stripe on hood sides and nose panels. Jim

No matter where I click on any of the 3 locos, PhotoShop thinks they're grey! Course, I seem to remember seeing pics of new ones and thought they were green, too. EDIT: Here's a link (and a name) that might be useful in finding out the answer: http://members.aol.com/callowayw/Seaboard_Air_Line.html

I think the reason is, that each individule pixel is grey, or a shade of, but when harmoniously synced, such as in an image, they are then a wonderful brown color. You need to select a whole section not just one pixel, I would think.Just my thoughts :_)
