Well, I started on these over a month ago and put them on the back burner to do some other stuff, forgot about them, then found and finished them up over the last 2 days. I know some of you northeastern guys have been wanting these for a while and since no one was attempting them, I thought I'd ty to do them. Some parts of mapping these babies was tough, a slow trial and error process. But I think they turned out pretty nice!!I repainted all 4 of the only 4 useable running units the D&H ever had. They were all ex-ATSF units. D&H actually had 5, but the 5th one was used for spare parts per the D&H Historical website.I included the CLW Alco PA Sounds and an ace file for use with my C-Liner Cabview that gives a D&H bluenose out the front windshield in cabview 1. If you don't have my C-Liner cabview, you will need to download it for free in the library under filename clcbv.zip as its is required to use these locos. For those of you who know how to alias to other cabviews and sounds, you can use what you like! All the screengrab pics below were taken on the new Tehachapi Pass 2 route. Been having fun with a new route to test on.I uploaded them this morning, so they will be available in the library on Sunday or Monday. Get'em if ya want'em!! Jim

Jim, you rock. I've been hoping for a D&H PA-1 so I could have the trusty (well...) locomotives I used to extinction in Railroad Tycoon II, and now you've delivered them. Thanks a lot!Heh heh heh. "More Alcos for my ever-growing army of ancient power..."

Jim,
You realize the real D&H PAs were only visually PA1s don't you???
When the D&H reconditioned them they were fitted with 251 series prime movers from MLW instead of the 244 junque they were originally fitted with.... Supposedly that is why they ran so well in service.....
I thnk I heard them referred to as PA4s, albiet 1/2 in jest....
As there was no such thing....IMO they were beautifull locomotives on a par with the Red War Bonnets of the SF.....

RE: Delaware & Hudson PA1's

Well to me Chuck, a PA is a PA whether its a -1, -2, -3, or -4. There is no mistaking that distictive body no matter how young or old you are. DH's ex-ATSF units were retrofitted with a newer prime movers and controls for more reliable commuter service. Each flavor had its own little changes from the original. The only model we have in the library is designated as a PA-1, so thats how the repaint received its designation
Gary, I'd hate to rain on Paul's Wabash and GM&O parade, but would consider it if he was to ask for one. Did CGW or CNW ever have any PA's??
I'm going to start on a Mopac PA next after I finish my Pennsy Erie Builts and B&O FT's and Frisco and Mopac MP15DC's, and some other payware stuff some guys got me working on. Jim

No on either, the CGW had rather vanilla tastes in it's motive power selections relying on dual service F's rather than passenger only locos due to it's rather small and rapidly diminishing passenger service at the time of dieselization and reserved Alco and Baldwin to pretty much switcher and road switcher choices.
The C&NW had rather varied(and in some cases downright strange)tastes but no PA's my guess is that they found the DL 109's lacking in some regards however I do belive they did have Erie Builts in the fancy passenger livery.Gary S

Nice lookin PA's, If you're looking for suggestions for the next PA set how about Wabash? Paul Fowler might like a little Alco power for his Wabash varnish.Gary S
