F as in F3 as in three Bangor & Aroostook F3s in the early paint schemes just uploaded. Sorry if this "offends" someone but I look at it this way. The railroads that I grew up with, as with most of us in my age group, are long gone. Most of them had very few variations in motive power and this is one way that we can remember them. Well at least a few hundred of you think so by looking of the number of downloads of each F unit thats been posted. SO if you like F units then please click the download button when they are posted. If not then Ctrl-Alt-Del. Dwight........

RE: Oh Oh - The F Word

Hi Dwight, thanks for the three fine repaints into a very nice & decorative color scheme - I'm now having quite a f..., eh fff..., yes, fleet of F3's of the B&AR on my drive, also counting in the two orange and grey ones you published earlier Just one little thing: As I do now have three different versions of No.42, I am thinking about renumbering two of them for my own behalf, as I prefer seeing different numbers over seeing the same number on three different trains. Can you suggest other numbers that would be appropriate for B&AR F3's? I noticed there has also been a No.49 (the second grey/orange one). Is any other number in the 40s range prototypical? Thanks for enlightening meLukas a.k.a Swissie

RE: Oh Oh - The F Word

Hey Suisse,
As I recollect they were in number series 40-47 (from the first batch) I "think" that 49 was a rebuilt. The first units were 500-507 as delivered. The yellow for the numbers (40-47) is Erie Lackawanna yellow at 80% luminence. I did all three (four if you count the earlier tri-color I did) just to show the variations that one engine had during their lifetime. Should be easy to change since I did'nt do any weathering - never could perfect that one. Have fun.Dwight.......

Speaking of the D&H, anyone planning to paint a PA-1 in that? Only recently did I figure out whose livery the Railroad Tycoon II PA-1 was in, and I've been kind of hoping that someone would get around to the blue, silver, and lightning bolt scheme. It's kind of fun having an all-Alco railroad, 'least until the maintenance costs and so forth come in.
