I evidently missed a vital step when doing this renumbering....note the cab windows are no longer transparent. What did I do wrong? When I complete the renumbering in PSP 7 do I save it then and send back to TGA tool? Thanks for any and all help! Michael

RE: Cab transparency problem - Question

Micheal, when you did the repaint, did you save the .ace file you used for the repaint as .tga (which supports alpha channels for the transparency effect) or as .bmp (which does not support alpha channels)? In the latter case, you'll have to go back and re-do the new number, this time saving it as .tga file first before starting the repainting. It's probably much easier that way than to try to get all the alphaed parts back in (or out, actually) of the picture on your finished repaint.Lukas a.k.a Swissie

No he won't. All he has to do is send the original alpha channel image to his editor and copy/paste it into his new skin's RGB image as a new channel (i.e. alpha channel). Then save it as a tga in his editor, not through TGATool2. Then convert the whole thing back to an ace using TGATool2. It's a relatively simple fix that won't require him to start over on the repaint.

I don't think the problem is related to how the tga template was converted back to an ace file. I think that this may have been caused by the way you merged your layers prior to saving the template and then reloading into TGA2 Tool. Did you use merge all of merge visible in your layer palette ?PS Yes I know he has lost his alpha channel.
