GO Bi-level reskins? – image 1

Does anybody have this in their plans? I'm aware there is already a GO Bi-level out but the skin looks sorta pixelated at close view and contains little to no weathering... GO coaches sure aren't washed every 2 hours lol. I don't mean to put down the existing one, just needs an update. I saw some nice ones that were scheduled to come out for Kurt's models but that obviously went down the tubes. Also, anybody planning an F59PH? That would be nice CHARTER MEMBER - Since August 2001 Looks Like a Pony, RUNS LIKE A STALLION

Yah Kurt made that too, along with the Bi-levels but they were taken away. Hopefully somebody else will take a look into it. A Bi-level reskin would be great too CHARTER MEMBER - Since August 2001 Looks Like a Pony, RUNS LIKE A STALLION

Rob, did you forget about my reskins already? I've got a set of reskins ready, F59 and coaches....however Kurt has explicitly said that no reskins of any of his models can be released.I'm planning on making some new models, but I have a couple of things to take care of first.Dan

No more waiting!
The following is an announcement by Kurt Kaminer of KLW TrainSim:
RELEASE TO YOUR HEART'S CONTENT!!!Yep! That means you can release a modification of any KLW locomotive from now on . Following is the new rules and regulations section for your reskins:-------------------

*********------------------- (end section)By the way Dan, when you release your reskins, could you place the cars in a folder called "go_bdir", name the cab car's .wag file "go_bdir_cab" and the coach's .wag file "go_bdir_coach?" I would appriciate it if you could do this for me, as I want to eliminate confusion between John's version and the beta KLW version in the sim (just imagine if all of them installed to the folder "go_bdier!"). This system will also allow for other bi-level reskins, i.e.: "go_cab_rebuilt.wag" (for rebuilt cabcars) or "go_bdir_2500.wag" (for the new 2500 series cars).Take care!Kurt

RE: GO Bi-level reskins?

Hey bill, this is a good chance to reskin those into TRE livery, and maybe include a TRE F59PHI. This is not a request, but a suggestion

Kurt, you da man!Hmmm.....how about I set it up with a base folder called "go-bdir", with subfolders for each car? I already have about 10 repaints done, with proper WAG/ENG files to match, and the thing is that the rebuilt cars are a little heavier than the unrebuilt cars are...the newer generation cars are heavier still.Meh, fire me off an email and we'll figure out a solution to this off-line.Dan

Hello Dan!When you say "subfolders," do you mean different folders for each car in "TRAINSET?" I wouldn't mind, but the one-folder version is more my style ( but that doesn't count right now ). The only tricky part about the one-folder method means un-compressing the .S file for the proper car, then changing the name of the main .ace texture file that it uses.Ok, will send off an email to you. That would be smallspy at hotmail.com?Take care!Kurt

Yeah, but those more than likely won't be freeware, probably part of the route. These can be repainted and released for all to use GO Bi-level reskins? – image 19Hauling America one pixel at a time
