Permission requested to include Reskins in Mega Packs?

LHW here....Im putting together some mega-packs of Northeastern themed rolling stock. These will consist of my reskins but I would also like to include some previously released rolling stock if I may....here is a list of the type of packs Im doing and the rolling stock/reskins I would like to use...Note: be advised that I would like to be able to modify some of these reskins if thats ok...(mostly to add some additional weathering and/or to lighten the brighter textures to "age" them a bit.here is the list.for a covered hopper pack, I would like to include:

Bill I hate to be the bearer of bad news here.
But the only legitimate way for you to do this is to e-mail each author individually and ask for permission to use specific models directly....
Some may answer you on here and some won't.....

So I keep my eyes open for any postings such as this public notification post. - and/also, if I found out that something that I painted was included w/ someone elses upload, and they have some statement in the .doc's about where it came from, that would be prefectly acceptable as well --> but when no refrence, or worse, claiming as own happens... that is when I start to have issues. lnghairedwizard, thanks for asking.Matt

Thanks for the permissions guys.......I HAVE emailed several people already for permissions but several have come back as undeliverable (I assume the addrress is out of date) and a couple reskins have the original authors of the model and texture listed but no mention of who the author of the actual reskin is.....that being said....I don't feel that there is anything "illegitamite" about me making a post. Better to ask than to assume.LHW

I was trying to say that the preferred method is to ask the individual author for their permission...

Kevin I honestly wasn't worried about it...TKW is one of our partners at times....
And I was just trying to be helpful....
As you well know some designers can get down right testy about using their stuff with out saying "Mother May I" in the proper format....

I posted in an open forum for the benefit of the new reskinners that join all the time and I wouldn't want to see any of them in a pi$$ing contest...

That is why I always include the orginial readme, cuts down on the complaining. And all that I have used have been ok with it or their readme did not have restrictions, though I did chack with them first. Always check the readme, many do not put restrictions other than credit for the skin. There are just a few PITA ones and I leave those alone.Kevin Arceneaux
