Howdy all, As many of my friends know in here, my grandfather worked for the C&NW way back in the early part of the 20th century. He had a love for trains, and especially steam. He use to tell me tails of the steamers coming through Cherry Valley, and Troy Grove, IL and he would immitate the sounds and the whistle. Fast forward to now. I just installed the SP&S 700. first off...WOW!!! No trouble to report here, quick and easy install, and the tools are way cool!!! It is a beautifully done model!!!.(this was the first version-not the new upgrade)But IMO, the sounds are the best part!!! Namely the whistle!! I layed on the whistle while running the unit, and got tears in my eyes! It sounded like my grandfather's whistle!! The only other unit to do this is the MILW 261. (Which wouldn't take alot of changing on this unit to make her...hint hint )So even though the above may sound stupid, I wanted to say THANK YOU for taking me back to a time I miss so dearly!! Listening to grandpa talk of the freights throwing open the fire door coming out of Spring Valley, IL and the glow hitting the low clouds. Or the sounds of the passenger trains pulling out of Cherry Valley.
Great job!! And THANK YOU for a job well done!!!Kelley D. Ellison
