DAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT NOW I AM RAGGING ,........................................................................................................................HAHAHAHAHA just kidding is looking pretty good, but if you are going for prototypical then Rio Grande never had gp15's ,BUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTT if you are just making makeup motors than go for it,Right now i am in the works of doing stuff like D&RGW dash9's And sd60's(Rio Grande Still lives on in my world) i have been painting D&GRW in MSTS for a long ass time, and i have learned that the plain out black does not look very well in the game hehe.take and go into the color selector and lightn it up a bit so it gets alittle dull, and has lost the shine.Just some addvise.hope that helps
(AND NOW FOR MY NEW SLOGAN) THANKS,

RE: GP15 Repaint

It's interesting that you mention that. I listened to a tyraid from a buddy(?) of mine who went off about that very same thing (D&RGW never had GP15's...) He wouldn't have responded as kindly as Danoz just did. ... he must not have watched enough of Mr. Rogers' to fully understand "make believe". Maybe he was spending too much time counting rivets...

Just curious (yes here I go again Daniel) that looks EXACTLY like the front of my GP40 in the file library. It took me a long time to get that right so I would appreciate you mentioning where you got the front and rear of your engine from. Thanks
Nick

RE: GP15 Repaint

Hey Nick, here's an idea buddy. Before you publicly accuse someone of stealing your textures, just ask them to send you the ACE. file to have a look. If they refuse, then they obviously stole it. Just an opinion. Thanx

>just ask them to send you the ACE. file to have a look. If they >refuse, then they obviously stole it. Just an opinion. That is a good idea. The gentleman is also new to train-sim (only a few posts). Did you have this happen to you? This is where I put my foot in my mouth. I guess I have to put a line in the readme that explains to people using the model that it is free to "use" as in "drive" but not to rape and pilage the .ace files. I am 100% sure its my front. The picture I used (I took) of a GP40 that had the paint scraped of the mars light. Most mars light were black, not the light grey color. THATS why I know its mine. I have also thought about hiding certain shapes or messages in the paint job to detect theft. I just wish people were more original. Nick

RE: GP15 Repaint

Sorry about using your front end of the gp40, I didnt know it would cause a big fuss. I didnt plan on uploading it, it's not my work. I thought this is where you go to hash out problems before you upload stuff

>>Sorry about using your front end of the gp40, I didnt know it >>would cause a big fuss. Thanks for understanding I understand the Rio Grande stripes are hard to re-create. People work hard on their repaints and don't expect their work to be used on everyone else's train. Thats why I said something. If it was a "true" Rio Grande engine you could look online for photo's to compare lettering sizes. There are alot of site with pictures of Rio Grande trains. >I didnt plan on uploading it, it's not my work. Most people that post pics of their work, generally upload thier trains. >I thought this is where you go to hash out problems before you >upload stuffYou got the right forum. RE: GP15 Repaint

Thanks for understanding Nick. I drive truck and get very limited time to work on msts. Until now I havent read through the forums, but now understand that your work on a project is your work and should be given credit for. I have been trying to repaint this loco for about a year, thats too long. I finally got it painted and had to show somebody(my old lady could care less). I am changing the front to reflect drawn on stripes till I can get back through Salt Lake to where RG SD40T-2 5392 sits so I can get some pics and figure out how to get them on a loco. A question for you, I repainted this loco figuring that someone would have a swither painted in RG colors before I finished, is there a RG switcher out there? Thanks
Dave(still learning)

RE: GP15 Repaint

don't these sorta things belong out of the public eye..like an EMAIL? this crap is a good way to make a website go straight to hell...publicly accusing people of stuff is immature...try privately..if he doesn't answer..then maybe flame the guy publicly...just my 2 cents worth...and i could really care less if i offended youKyle Penn

Congrats on the elk. I can't wait to see the pics.By the way, you handle yourself very well for a young man. You seem to have more compassion and common sense that the majority of us here.It is refreshing.Rick

RE: GP15 Repaint

Hi Nick,I respect the work involved in repainting locomotives as I have done a couple myself.I am also very happy that this has been resolved without bloodshed.More importantly, for all any of us know, he would have provided you with credit when he uploaded the loco, if he uploaded the loco. Thanks for your past and future efforts.Rick
