I was just wondering if anybody out there had repainted the GE 44 Tonner and wouldn't mind posting some screen shots? All of the texture files are the same for V1.00 and V2.00, however I have added some things to the Interior texture for the wheel motors and underbody stuff...This is kwk100 and I'm 10-10 on the side.KWK100's GE Locomotive Rebuilding Updates (Dec. 03/2002):GE 44 Tonner V2.00 nearing completion, working on attaching all the parts and animation. Here's two shots. One question: did you edit the wheels? They could use some fine tuning on the texture mapping, and polygon smoothing. See the last pic. You could also shift the model upwards, maybe about 0.02m
I hate being "picky picky picky"... but I just have to say this...1. It needs traction motors, not freight axles. 2. It needs a solid belly tank.Pete Willard
pwillard, you will love V2.00 which by the way is almost finished, I have added the front foot plates as suggested by enocell, traction motors, a box, air tank and fuel tank under the cab...Enocell, I will have to add some smoothing groups to the wheels...PS - Being picky will get the revisions you want done! This is kwk100 and I'm 10-10 on the side.KWK100's GE Locomotive Rebuilding Updates (Dec. 03/2002):GE 44 Tonner V2.00 nearing completion, working on attaching all the parts and animation. I'm planning on one or more New Haven variants when I finish a few commitments I have in the pipeline. I'm also going to do a similar variant for the Valley Railroad's 0800, which was the very first locomotive I ever went to work on.Will the original skins work on your new version? -Phil
They will work on the new version, however there were some errors in V1 of the locomotive (ie stripes on the hoods didn't line up) this has been fixed in the mapping to the best of my ability, so you might have to do some adjusting of the textures to make them work for V2.00 of the locomotive...This is kwk100 and I'm 10-10 on the side.KWK100's GE Locomotive Rebuilding Updates (Dec. 03/2002):GE 44 Tonner V2.00 nearing completion, working on attaching all the parts and animation.
