RE: NJT/EL U34CH's

Sorry for the slow reply - haven't had much spare time lately! By all means, you certainly have my permission to distribute these reskins, ASR_Q301! They do look nice indeed! For the record, if anyone is interested, I have no problems whatsoever with people reskinning and distributing models I have built - in fact, I encourage it! To me, the fact that someone wants to reskin one of my models is about the best compliment I can get! The only thing I would ask is that the original readme.txt stays in tact, but you can add another with all your info!Happy Painting!Highball!John D. Peterson

RE: NJT/EL/SEPTA U34CH's

LAST EDITED ON Dec-08-02 AT 10:01 AM (EST)

SEPTA borrowed some U34CHs for its 1992-93 RailWorks project. Then went to scrap years later. If you repaint some U34CHs into blue SEPTA MOW paint and when NALW completes the SEPTA Bombradier set,It would be perfect!(SEPTA's MOW fleet consists of U34CHs,RL1s,SW1500s,a ex-CR GP-9,and a 80 ton switcher)

Mike,Good luck with the files! See what you can get out of them...I did a ton of research on the color matches and fonts, so you have a very reliable source to work from. You should come up with a great locomotive once all is said and done.Make sure you credit Paul Tupaczewski for the EL fonts, they are copyrighted by him. Also, please credit my website, www.hobokenterminal.com - that is where I did all of the research matching the MSTS skins up to their real life counterparts.

While I think of it do you have any good shots of the ALP46 Roof and also the undercarriage details? We are building one and they look kinda plain right now but I don't seem to be able to get any good reference pix other than the obligatory Side, 3/4 and Front view and one cab shot....
BTW, I haunt your site for reference material..... Great site....Chuck Schneider

RE: NJT/EL U34CH's

I've got a few more, all from Penn Station. Those are the ones behind the ALP46 in that picture. If you come to New York anytime soon, you can see them from a parking lot near Penn Station, from the station at Newark International Airport, from the 7 train, and from any station on the NJ Transit system with a crossover. The ALP46s are running on all the electrified lines. They pull either Comet IV or Comet V cars. The Comet V cars are also pulled by ALP44s. The Comet I cars, that you have modeled, are being replaced by Comet V and Comet IIM cars. You might want to model the other comet/horizon/shorliner cars. Comet V will need a new model.

well - i think these are pretty much done - i have fixed up the NJDOT logos (the orginals were pointing away from the train - they are supposed to point to the train) - i have fixed up some other minor details that Michael and I have been discussing - and i think these are done i didnt add the photos of the Conrail U34CH (1776) as all i did was add the cab numbers and fixed the logo - nothing much has changed on them. there is also a SEPTA MOW U34 - is anyone interested in it?enjoyMike F
