I noticed the .ace files for the PRR F7As (using 3DTrains v3.0) that were posted to the library were not compressed and are therefore alsom twice as large as the 3DTrain ATSF versions. Can these .ace files be loaded in TagTools2 and saved as compressed or do the need to be converted to Targa files first and then compressed with MakeAce?
no they do not. just check the box that says "compress ace file" and save over the existing ace file. then it will be compressed. Hauling America one pixel at a time Bill Hemb train sim repainter, 3d modeler Ah, the country's going down the tubes. What Tubes? I don't see any tubes.-George Carlin
Also remember the DXt compression. It will shrink the file 10 times smaller than without compression. It may not work work well with transparencies, or loco.ace file(which doesn't work if DXT compressed).
