I was not sure where to post a question like this. Has anyone tried creating box car doors that open and close at sidings or factories?

The payware ($9.95) TGV train by Clemm Tiller has an option to use animated doors on the passenger cars. Works, too! I'll have to assume, where there's a will--there's a way!I love that TGV train, by the way. Passenger views, lighted consist, very cool.Mike

Thanks for the info. I was aware of people doing this in the passenger cars, but I had not seen this feature used on freight cars.

Wouldn't the freight car need to be designated as a passenger then? You might even be able to put in a hobo or something sitting in the opening?? hahaha. Seriously I could be a good idea to have freight cars with that "imperfection". The loaders of the cars are supposed to close and lock the doors for that reason but they don't always do that and I have seen the odd freight car with the doors open. As for them openning in on a siding or at a factory wouldn't the car need to be coupled to the locomotive at the time for that to happen or could it sit on the siding that way?Ronson
