Would anyone be interested in reskins of Mexican AC4400CW's? I have a few friends involved with a few of the railroads in Mexico, and could possibly embark on reskinning some 44's for TFM, Ferromex and Ferrosur. If there's any interest, I might do some EMD power as well for TFM and Ferromex.Chris Denbow - Baltimore, Md.

RE: Interest in Mexican Railways?

>Yo quiero TFM! If there's interest in just TFM, then maybe I'll do a TFM pack, with AC4400CW's, SD40-2's, GP40-2's and GP38-2's. I'm still in the middle of my CSX Geep (38 and 40-2's) project, so the TFM's would be slotted after that.I've been interested in the railways of Mexico for a few years now, and noticed that there is a shortage of Mexican downloads in the F-L. maybe I can change that a little bit here soon. RE: Interest in Mexican Railways?

Hey! If you're interested in them, then that should be reason enough! Seriously, I've been fascinated with Mexico's railways for some time now. Down here in Houston, you see various TFM units on a pretty regular basis. There was a fellow who skinned some units in NdeM awhile back, but I haven't seen anything from him lately.I say: Go for it!Henry

RE: Interest in Mexican Railways?

Sure Chris,I'd like a set of TFM,KCS AC4400's.If i'm not mistaken,i think the KCS versions also had the "Radial" steering trucks.If it wouldn't be too much trouble,could ya manage to "paste" a set over the original side-frames.Actually i might try pasteing a set myself just to see if it will look right,or not?I'll post a pic,if i'm successfull?

KCS AC4400CWs

In November 1999, I had the good fortune to see (and put on video!) a set of brand spanking new KCS AC4400CWs (#2007, 2001, 2002, 2003) heading west (on CSX Q363, I believe) at Ingalls, IN, on their delivery run from GE in Erie, Pa.

RE: Interest in Mexican Railways?

Hello again Don;
I thought your other AC's had the radial trucks on them, guess I wasn't looking very close !! Might consider weathering them up a bit to bring out the details, such as in the KCS photo in this thread. Ron K of RockfordP.S. Would be interested in your finished product, to go along with the other 4 that you sent me !!!!

RE: Interest in Mexican Railways?

I'd like a high-nose in the livery of Ferrocariles Chihuahua al Pacifico (Chihuahua to Mazatlán way back when). They used high-nose diesels (EMD I believe) and heavyweight passenger stock back in the 80's when I rode them.
