Was waiting on a train to go by, and one of the cars had a very odd load. Was a long flat car, and on top, held by 2 pieces of strapping steel, was a 40 ft. boxcar, minus the trucks. The trucks were loaded on the front of the flat, and also strapped down. There was no aparrent damage to the box car, at least from my side, but it was just riding easy on top of the flat.

RE: Saw an odd load the other day

I can not remember the year limit, but after so many years a car cannot be interchanged with another without a waiver from the FRA. Kevin Arceneaux

RE: Saw an odd load the other day

The car was probably on its way to be rebuilt after a derailment which damaged the brake rigging and/or air brakes.CarToad Dave
