This is my first repaint of Dekosoft model. I haven't found the perfect shape file yet, but I see that there's many different shapes so I'll keep testing... (this one has a Conrail signal box, otherwise it would be suitable)

That looks great!! I find the bigger textures are easier to add more detail to. Well worth the few bucks to purchase them. Nick

Have you checked with Chip at Dekosoft about a revised s file? He has been very helpful to reskinners with different shapes.Kevin Arceneaux

RE: Lehigh Valley #325

I sent mail but he's on vacation until Aug. 8. I need custom shape files for both locos, so I can't release these repaints yet. Luckily no big changes, in fact all features are already available but not in same files...

RE: Lehigh Valley #325

Nice repaints.I have been doing Dekosoft repaints as well.
I am trying to figure out the best way to release them. Since the skin can only be distributed, people will have to do a lot of copying and renaming.
I did one repaint using one of the s files from the Roundhouse section of the site but these engines will be available for a limited time. Unless the s file is available in a permanent download section I can't see releasing the skins.
I have put a test loco on my website with an install doc. It's a BN GP40-2. Here is the installation part of the doc.Instillation1. Make sure you have the gp40_csx6109 installed in your TRAINSET directory.
2. COPY the gp40_csx6109 folder to another directory. Make sure you don't MOVE the folder.
3. Rename it gp40_bn3056.
4. Go into the gp40_bn3056 folder and rename the following files.
5. Rename csx6109.s to bn3056.s
6. Rename csx6109.sd to bn3056.sd
7. Rename csx6109.eng to bn3056.eng
8. Open the sd file in WordPad. Change the line shape ( csx6109.s to shape ( bn3056.s
9. Open the eng file in WordPad. Change all the lines that have csx6109 to bn3056
a. Wagon ( csx6109 to Wagon ( bn3056
b. WagonShape ( csx2804.s ) to WagonShape ( bn3056.s )
c. Engine ( csx6109 to Engine ( bn3056
d. Wagon ( csx2804 ) to Wagon ( bn3056 )
e. Name ("GP38-2 -- CSX #2804") to Name ("GP38-2 -- bn# 3056")
Make sure you do them all or you will have problems with this loco.
10.Extract the bn3056.zip file into the gp40_bn3056 folder.
11. Move the gp40_bn3056 folder into the TRAINSET directory.
12. Make a consist to test your new loco.
That should do it.I hope this is enough info to allow people to put together this loco.
The web sit is http://www.mindspring.com/~jones77/
Distributing skins of payware products seems to be part of our future. It dose not look as easy as freeware.

RE: Lehigh Valley #325

He did one for the GM&O and it is still available, the ones that are only available for a short period of time are bonus engines from Dekosoft, not reskinner such as you.Kevin Arceneaux
