Can someone tell me how to convert 1024 textures to ACE files...TSM won't do it....Makeacewin seems to have a problem with it...maybe I'm doing it wrong..keeps asking for 512 textures....anyway any help would be appreciated
Hi, you could import your Bitmap (.bmp) or Targa (.tga) files with your textures into TGATools2 which can be found at: http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/index.htm This program will then take your files and convert them to .ace files. This is the tool I use to create all of my .ace files and it is wonderful! You will also want to make sure you are using the updated Makeace which you can get from the Microsoft Train Simulator site: http://www.microsoft.com/games/trainsim/ (It was down when I posted this link, so hopefully it will be back up soon!) I am currently working on creating some tutorials on how to use TGATools2 to make .ace files and then importing them back into the game. I don't know when I'll have it done, but hopefully it will be soon. Any other questions, feel free to reply to this message or send a private message. Hope this helps!
Thanx for the quick reply Kyle..........I didn't know that TGA Tool did that............guess it's a case of RTFM.........in any case I tried that and my texture got hammered in the middle like noise or such....I'll keep trying tho.....Thanx again
What image editing program are you using? What type of file are you using? (.bmp, .tga, etc.) If you need any further help feel free to send me a private message.
