RE: to Alpha or not to Alpha?

Hey! I saw that same thing while I was in Oakland, CA a while back. You would think UP would do a better job rather than this damn ugly patchwork. To Alpha or not to Alpha? – image 2

RE: to Alpha or not to Alpha?

If you have the original skin, it should not be a problem to simply copy the original alpha from the original skin and past it on the reskin. I know using TGA tool and PhotoShop it is simple to just open the original skin (in TGA tool) and send the alpha to image editor, then open your new skin in TGA tool and just save the alpha in PhotoShop (save as "tgatool2.bmp"), reload the alpha after edit and you have your alpha back. Hope this helps.Michael

Oooh, I love that model, I've always wanted a UP Buyout SP engine...Ok, just some constructive criticism, but from what I've seen the nose is like this... (try to use some imagination with my drawing )
To Alpha or not to Alpha? – image 3I've seen SP engines with noses like that here in Abilene, TX. The UP logo has a armour yellow background to it...------------------------------------------------------------I'll never let go of the railroad that inspired me to involved with trains, the Union Pacific! To Alpha or not to Alpha? – image 4

RE: to Alpha or not to Alpha?

Youre right, most of the time there is a yellow patch behind the shield. This unit however didnt have it. the SP had probably faded to the point that there was no point in using the patch. But thanks for the idea.
Thanks Micheal for the tip I am going to try that as soon as I log off. Elliott
