RE: Need a re-skinning favor

In reviewing the pictures and talking to Hawk, it is a GP-7 not a GP-9. At least thats whatt the builders plate said. Thanks and sorry about the confusion.Need a re-skinning favor – image 10

RE: Need a re-skinning favor

Hi there,
Im sorry If I have stepped on any body's toes by doing this... but here is some screen shots of my tenn valley repaint...Here is some info on these engines.Model: EMD Gp-7
Built: 1951 for the US Army (note AAR Switcher trucks)
fuel tank: 800 gallons (smaller than standard)
1500 HP/ 16 CYL 10"dy/ 567 Prime mover/ 130 tons
Friction Bearing trucks
only 20 built for ARMY... (1821-1840)
(note* many of these Army gp's when sold in the surplus program had very low hours. 1822 from the FGCRRM has a little over 100,000 opperating hours.)Tennessee valley owns 3 (1824 opper, 1829, opper, 1833 non opp)Other known serviversFlorida Gulf Coast Railroad Museum (1835 opper, 1822 non opp)
* I belong to that museum and have had the pleasure of opperating the GP-7... they are a beutiful engine
