Greetings once again folks. I was just curious to see if someone could do a renumbering job for me. I've been most impressed with Dennis M. and Justin C.'s BNSF Dash 9 #5319. Most of the freight that passes by here is pulled by Dash 9s and lots of slugs. If possible, I'd like to have a small fleet of these to use in my activities, but would like different numbers so that the trains look that much more realistic. If it is okay with the two creators, would someone be interested in making 4-5 renumbered Dash 9s in the 4000 number series? It would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait for all the diesel and steam engines coming out in the coming weeks.
Cheers,Jason"How 'bout more KCS engines either in Vomit White or Vomit Grey?!?"
(that sounds like a serious medical prob to me b.t.w. )

RE: Renumbering BNSF Dash 9 5319

Actually Jason you could do it yourself very easily if you have a paint program and tgatools2........just open up the ace file and change the numbers and change them back to ace files with the tgatools2 program.......take you probably 20 minutes to do all four or five of them......but if you are tentative in doing that yourself,
I don't have that particular Dash 9, email me with the numbers that you want to use, I will download that particular engine tonight and will do them for you......what I will do is just email you the changed ace files and you can just put them in a new folder with the other required files........I will send you instructions on what to do at that point in order to get them all working for you........I am sure Justin won't have any problems with my doing that for you as long as you just use them in your own game and not upload them for distribution.......My email address is zhivago47@myrealbox.com....Just a quick note though Jason, I think you would enjoy the game much more if you took time to learn to reskin yourself.....it isn't that difficult and you could then change engines to your hearts content. Just need a good paint program, I use Paint Shop Pro, TGATools2 which you can get here at Train-Sim and there are plenty of reskin guides to help you out there.......But I will do these for you to get started.....Renumbering BNSF Dash 9 5319 – image 1Tim

RE: Renumbering BNSF Dash 9 5319

Thanks for the reply Tim.Actually, I have tried my hand at skinning a basic Dash 9. I have PSP 6 and a converter to change the .ace files. I tried to take away the numbers from an old engine and make new ones, but everytime I tried, I'd end up taking the numbers and the paint background behind it or it wouldn't let me 'select' anything such as text........I don't know. I seem to do a very good job at screwing it up, that's about what I do know. I did manage to create my own fictional engine.....Texas, Oklahoma, and Western Dash 9.....it took me 2 hours just to get the numbering right and used only solid black paint and text lettering. I wish I could do the image pasting and the more complicated paint jobs, but I've never had experience with any type of paint program at all. (it shows, eh?) As far as the numbering goes.......I'm wanting numbers from the actual roster....like in the neighborhood between 4700-4999....from what I know from a little bit of searching.I wish I could get a quick tutorial on how to change side numberboards and the front-back numbers on top and I wouldn't have to keep bugging you guys about doing this. I appreciate any kind of help I can get. Thanks for taking time out.The teacher quickly becomes the student,Jason

Thanks Dennis, didn't mean to leave you out of my reply above......that would be easier in the long run.......I have a number of your reskins and they are first rate......He would be better having your skins......Renumbering BNSF Dash 9 5319 – image 4Tim

RE: Renumbering BNSF Dash 9 5319

The upload of these renumbered SF and BNSF units would be greatly appreciated. The best I have been able to do is some minor fiddleing with the eng files on some of the locos, such as changing names, shutting off bells, simple stuff like that. The variety that has been created for MSTS is amazing!

RE: Renumbering BNSF Dash 9 5319

Hey Dennis, from the looks of those bogies,it looks like you slapped on a pair of Dash8 bogies?...am i right?(sorry,if i'm wrong). Also looks like you added some contrast to the H2 skin?(I did the same thing to mine)...makes it look alot more colorfull. You should up-load them...please?Check this out...I added the bogies from TA's ac6000 to Justin's dash9 model and made a CP ac4400.

Sorry jason, but hotmail accounts are quite small, and don't think it would work. The files are about 900kb.You can check your e-mail account and find out how many kb's it will handle.

RE: Renumbering BNSF Dash 9 5319

That engine looks good. I bet it would be better if you used Justin's pilot-mount-ditch-light shape file. Also, last night I started renumbering my Dash 9 to 5496.
