LAST EDITED ON Jun-16-02 AT 04:14 AM (EDT)Here's a set of 3 CSX CW40-8's I just finished tonight (unit #'s 7728, 7769 and 7815). These are pending NALW's approval, but they have some things going on with the GE's, so it might be a little while. Nevertheless, here are some screens for your enjoyment! DCForum Discussion Forum - CSX CW40-8's Fresh Outta The Paintshop – image 2Like my C40-8's I posted screenshots of earlier, these have to be dirtied up a bit. I've also started work on the two CW40-8's that CSX has painted into their new YN3 paint scheme, units 7314 and 7325.Chris Denbow - Baltimore, Md.

>color, too ??? Thanks Jens-Chris! The white roof on 7815 is prototypical. Last year, CSX started a program to do the cab roofs white on units without A/C to help keep the cabs cooler in the summer heat. There is a "White Roof" list put out once a month or so on a CSX mailing group, so I check to see if any units I'm reskinning have white roofs, to make them as real as possible. Here is a shot by Dean Heacock ( http://www.trainweb.org/csxphotos ) of SD60 8701 with a white roof:DCForum Discussion Forum - CSX CW40-8's Fresh Outta The Paintshop – image 5Chris Denbow - Baltimore, Md.

>Thanks for the info !! I didn't know that... (ok, you don't get anything US RR news here in Germany *g*) LOL>Again nice looking models !! Will you do a "C44-9W", too? I'm almost done the CW40-8 in CSX's new YN3 paint scheme, and I started on the CW44AC, but I will get around to a CSX CW44-9 within the next week or two.The thing about CSX's CW44-9's is that they are actually CW44-8's. They rate at 4,400hp but use the CW40-8 body and frame, with a little different grill/vent setup. I am going to redo the CW40-8 into a CSX Dash 9, and mess around with the .eng file to get the proper power output, etc.Chris Denbow - Baltimore, Md.

Looking good, Chris! Did you ever get photos of the AC44/AC60 trucks? If not, let me know and I might can get some for you today! Well, I can get the 2 versions of the AC44 anyway, and I THINK the new version of the AC44 is the same as the AC60. . . Later.Clayton

Cool. I was out and got pics anyway, just in case, so I'll go ahead and post them here in case other folks need them. Here's the "early" version of the AC44 trucks on CSX locos:

I'm headed to Illinois for my bro-in-law's wedding, and then on to DC for some vacation time. Hate I'm gonna miss all the fun, but PF pics the WORST time for his adventures! Clayton
