little more work left to be done on these but they should be finished very soon. also have a pc sd40(sd40-2) that is almost finished too.

White number boards started showing up with the reflective Scotchlite frame stripes. http://crcyc.railfan.net/locos/emd/sd40/sd40.htmlHowever, anything is possible on the prototypes !!Nice work !!!Paul

"RE: Conrail sd40-2" LAST EDITED ON May-30-02 AT 00:16 AM (EDT)well hate to prove someone wrong but here it is. proof that i'm not crazy. well ok maybe i am. both units, as all of my repaints are, are based on a photo, or photos if i'm lucky, of the particular engines in question. i think the photos you are referring to are of sd40s not sd40-2s. the predecessors used black numberboards, but the -2s were ordered new.

If you read all the info on that great site than you'd see that. I fanned Conrail in NE Ohio and remember when the white number boards started showing up and it was no earlier thn 1990-91.....
