Here's the Acela Express Trainset with Locomotives 2014 and 2019
to be available soon for MSTS. The engine textures were used from a screenshot of Adam Wojcieszyk Acela express model he is building for TRAINZ, which looks to be even better than anything MSTS is capable of! Can't wait! (Used by permission) The Coaches were done to match the color of the Engines, with a Photoshop texture applied. Still to be done!Work on the Physics and sound with Chuck Schneider (NALW)

Am I correct in assuming that this is just a reskin of the default model, not a complete replacement with new shapes and all such as Justin Cornell has done with the US Diesels?Any plans to make a similar reskin of the HHP as well?

I'm not sure but I think CPRailman was going to help Tom with this project ( at least I tried to hook them up ) and I know they both have talked about HHP fixes....------Chuck Schneider---------

Here's a shot of the Acela HHP to go with the Acela Express. Unfortunately due to a texture mapping problem in MSTS original model, it is not possible to get the Acela text in the logo on the 4 corners of the engine because they would appear reversed on 2 corners. Therefore only the logo was used.

OK, i guess one more Acela won't hurt Not exactly a repaint, but didn't want to start a new thread just for it... There's matching #2020 (without the crew) on the other end of the trainset. Both have been just uploaded to the File Library, and if nothing goes wrong, should be available in few days.(the passenger cars are Thomas Cain's great reskins of the original models)

LAST EDITED ON May-27-02 AT 07:25 PM (EDT)Yup, definitely. Not everyone will want to use the replacement, and nice repaints of the default model are always a good thing. Thomas' reskin uses #2014 + 2019, and CPRailman's is #2001, so looks like no conflicts here....

BTW, what are you using for Sounds and Physics??????I know nothing about editing those, so it's just a replacement for the 3d model -- meaning it uses default cab, sounds and everything else. (i've adjusted lights setup and positions to match the prototype/model, but that's all i could do)Figured it's better to release what i /can/ do, and leave it up to more skilled people, to possibly come up with good sounds and physics replacements. (iirc someone already is working on new sound system for electric trains... i think i even have some beta installed and it sounds pretty nice, with squealing wheels and all)

It has driven me nuts since last year , that such abeautiful train was represented so ugly in the game. Thanks to you Dyvach you have made a lot of people and me really happy. I have soooo many memories of President's Weekend 2001. That tuesday, I took the Acela home to New York from Boston. It was 2030 and 2031, I think. The MSTS model was a real dissapointment. Their passenger view was total crap as well as everything else about it. I can't wait for your new Acela!
