May-21-02, 01:25 AM (EDT) "Rio GrandeTunnel Motor coming soon!!" I have adjusted Dekosoft's SD45T-2 to as close as I could to make a "true" Rio Grande SD40T-2. She still needs a lot of work but I thought I would give you a teaser shot.
They look really cool coupled together.
Comments, thoughts, suggestions....Nick

May-21-02, 03:19 AM (EDT) 2. "RE: Rio GrandeTunnel Motor coming soon!!" Yeah, Chip mentioned doing a SD40T-2, but his current engines have him rather busy for now. Some day in the future we may get it. So I deceided to tide myself over with this one.Nick

May-21-02, 07:06 PM (EDT) 3. "RE: Rio GrandeTunnel Motor coming soon!!" Dude! Now that I have the gyra lights working great without
the annoying interference patterns of double
lights, we gotta shoot out the cab light! Perhaps
you could set up a light in the file that lights
the cab, but which allows the user to turn it
off by editing...I've had good luck changing the black of the DRGW locos
from train-sim. Pure black is way too contrast killing
in the sim. I repaint the skins by pulling up the
gamma correction, until I get that chalked-out look
that black gets after sitting in the sun for a long
time. Some day I hope to add the dirt streaks on the
fuel tank and trucks.Tony Burzio

May-23-02, 06:58 PM (EDT) 5. "RE: Rio GrandeTunnel Motor coming soon!!" GoldenPig. The colors would match because the colors are from real photo's of tunnel motors I've shot. Did you know there are only seven D&RGW tunnel motors left in service!!!I thought I saw in one of your posts that you were thinking about making a snoot-nose SD40T-2. Are you still? If you make a snoot nose, why not make a regular nose. Hmmmmm Keep up your awesome modeling!!Nick

May-23-02, 07:00 PM (EDT) 6. "RE: Rio GrandeTunnel Motor coming soon!!" TonyThe GP40's I made a while back are a little dark. So are the SD45's. I like the current "black" I use cause you get the detail on the sides of the engine. The other black was too dark. Maybe someday I will go back fix them. Nick

May-24-02, 04:44 PM (EDT) 7. "RE: Rio GrandeTunnel Motor coming soon!!" Dude!About time a SD40T-2 in Rio Grande all I ask is make it come with a new horn sound just other than the default!possibly that CSX horn in the File Library I know I know it's not Rio Grande but hey it doesn't have to be so perfect. This locomotive might become the leader of my loco fleet. keep up the good work!! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
