Well I'm trying my first locomotive reskin, which seems to be a little more time consuming than freight cars. Here is the reskin: Got a little more to do on it. Looking for authentic cab with complete clear alphas and the authentic ALCO sound (got this but waiting for the OK) plus the horn sound used by Maine Central. Here is a picture of the "real thing" http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/User_files/3ce85a176de907b9.htmlNot sure why this is not showing but click the link to see. As you can see (saw) the "ALCO" weathering needs to be added.Dwight........
Thanks John. I'm realizing that these are not just sitting down to the computer after dinner and whipping out a few re-skins before the news comes on.This one has been going on for a few weeks and probably a few more to go till I'm satisfied with it. Hardest part is trying to get the right color balance between the tga file and the MSTS image. I got to thank SMP industries for a good color chart. Right now I think it's close but that also depends on the resolution one is using in MSTS. Now I'm trying to figure how to make the engine so that it is short hood forward for the cab (other than cheating in MSTS). Maine Central's were made as short hood forward. Someday maybe.
As soon as I get all the "Okie-Dokies" and the final touch-ups done (?) I'll be posting it to train-sim along with the bethgons I've been working on. Dwight
