Apr-11-02, 01:39 PM (EST) "Any interest in DM&E stuff?" I'm in the process of skinning some DME locomotives. I'm working on the 3800 seen below. This one is decked out in it's 10th anniversary attire. Does anyone have a good picture of the logo seen on the side and front? Is anyone interested in any other DM&E reskins (or even this one)?Message Areas - "Any interest in DM&E stuff?" – image 1 Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-11-02, 04:37 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Any interest in DM&E stuff?" you should try e-mailing them and asking for stuff, they might be tickled about it, seeings that they got approval to their build-in AND just took over I&M Rail link
as I recall there is only a GP38 (Default) available in this road

Apr-11-02, 09:27 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Any interest in DM&E stuff?" That's a good idea, I think I'll give it a try. Here a are a few pics of what I have done. Anyone have any feedback, let me know. It's my first reskin, so I'm in need of suggestions. Thanks, ChrisPs. Justin Cornell, if you are reading this, do I have permission to upload? It's a skin of your model. Thanks! Apr-12-02, 10:32 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Any interest in DM&E stuff?" i'm sorry to say, you beat me to it. Pretty darn good job too. I've been busy with the CNW version of the ESE, so I haven't had time. But I still might be able to help. I have a tape of the DM&E made by PLETS EXPRESS, which shows a lot of sides and fronts of their gp38's. Maybe you should check it out. Oh, and try typing the full name in the AOL search(Or whatever engine you use), I found a ton of pix that way. Hope this helps!

Apr-12-02, 01:06 PM (EST) 4. "RE: Any interest in DM&E stuff?" Glad to hear that someone else may make some DME stuff. There's lots of possibilities. What ones were you thinking of skinning?Anyway, thanks for the tips. I'll have to see what I can find. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-12-02, 01:15 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Any interest in DM&E stuff?" Well it's pretty safe to say, the DM&E doesn't have a wide variety of engines to do. Pretty much gp38's and such. If I have the time, I might do some older stuff. The reason I like the DM&E is that my family is from outside rochester mn. and my great-uncle used to be a fireman on the CNW back in the 50's. My great-grandpa used to tell stories about the tracks going up and down like a roller coaster. HEHE

Apr-12-02, 01:18 PM (EST) 6. "RE: Any interest in DM&E stuff?" Wait, strike that! Upon looking further into my tape, it says they have(had) GP9'S,GP38'S,GP40'S,SD9 AND 10'S, plus Sd40-2's. Hmmm... maybe an SD40-2 will be up next??? Only time will tell.

Apr-12-02, 01:34 PM (EST) 7. "RE: Any interest in DM&E stuff?" here are two web pages....
the unofficial web page -- someone should ask him to update it
but it does have good and complete (if old) info
http://www.visi.com/~mfrahm/dme/
the official web page -- just ask Kevin V. Schieffer
if he has any good skin shots you can use --there web page is about as interesting as cardboard -- not as good as I&M's was

Apr-12-02, 02:10 PM (EST) 8. "RE: Any interest in DM&E stuff?" WJL - Yes, the unofficial site does have some good information, unlike the official site. That it pretty much worthless. However, I did email DME and they emailed me back saying that they would try to get me a image of the 10th anniversary logo. We'll see if they come through or not.
WP713 - Yes indeed they do have some SD-40's. My plan was to do 6363 next (City of Rochester), as that's where I'm living now. Small world, I guess. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-13-02, 09:49 AM (EST) 9. "RE: Any interest in DM&E stuff?" Well I finally got around to watching the whole tape yesterday. My first project will probably be a GP9. Since all the Sd9 and 10's they have are all ex CNW and MILW choppped noses.
