Apr-07-02, 08:27 PM (EST) "Paging 3D Trains (Marc Nelson)" Marc, I sent you an e-mail regarding repainting the GP9 into black CRR colors, but haven't heard back. Ok to proceed/upload? In advance, OK to do a y/g version too? Thanks!Clayton Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-14-02, 11:56 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Paging 3D Trains (Marc Nelson)" OK, thanks Marc! I sent an e-mail to mnelson@3DTrains.com. Still a valid e-mail address? I got no error messages, or "unable to send message" messages, so I figured it went through. I'll update my address book with this new one! Thanks.
OK to do a yellow/greay one, too? The black one is headed to the upload area!Message Areas - "Paging 3D Trains (Marc Nelson)" – image 1 Clayton Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-15-02, 10:49 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Paging 3D Trains (Marc Nelson)" Gonna have to get YOU to convert back to MSTS! I've got most of the diesel roster skinned for the CRR in MSTS. All I have left (of the availabe models) is a y/g gp7, y/g gp38 and y/g F7B. Black U36C and SD45 (ex SCL) are coming SOON! Both skins are done, but I'm waiting on a little bit of extra stuff on both models before uploading. "Replacement" black gp38 is also coming soon, as soon as I can get stripes on the pilot!CN Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-18-02, 12:39 PM (EST) 7. "RE: Paging 3D Trains (Marc Nelson)" Convert? I never left. BTW, I have a route-in-progess of the Clinchfield for Trainz. So far, I have Elkhorn City to just beyond Haysi (about 14 miles total). What would take weeks or months in MSTS takes but a few hours in Trainz. Cheers!

Apr-18-02, 02:40 PM (EST) 8. "RE: Paging 3D Trains (Marc Nelson)" >What would take weeks or months in MSTS takes but a few hours in TrainzDon't tell Jerry Sullivan that- -he'd have a cow! He's just finished laying track on the BR Sub and is now adding details to it. Loco production is pretty much done for it. I've got a y/g gp7 mostly done, but haven't had much of a chance to work on it since I posted the pic a couple of days ago. Your GP9 skin sure is fun to repaint- -one of the easiest ones I've done! Trying to add yellow stripes to the pilot of my b/y rendition of Justin Cornell's GP38 model, then will do a y/g one. I thought about repainting TA's F units into CRR colors (they're free and I'm cheap! ) so I can get the F7B on there, but I know there are already a couple of CRR F7A's out there and I haven't decided what I'm gonna do. I haven't decided what to do about the steamers yet either- -I haven't researched CRR steam at all. I know they had the big boy and I figure one of those suckers will probably end up in CRR paint. . . Clayton Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-18-02, 04:48 PM (EST) 9. "RE: Paging 3D Trains (Marc Nelson)" The CRR did not have any 4-8-8-4 "Big Boys". They had some 4-6-6-4 "Challengers" that the U.S. Gov't diverted from UP to Clinchfield straight from ALCo, those units were built to Clinchfields specs most notable was a single smoke stack instead of a double stack configuration. I don't think any of the Clinchfield Challengers survived the scrappers torch.MKT1972 Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-19-02, 06:39 AM (EST) 11. "RE: Paging 3D Trains (Marc Nelson)" As I said, I haven't researched CRR Steam at all! You're correct and I'll stick to the diesels (though I don't know very much about the older ones of those either- -the CRR predates me) I have been told that none of the CRR Challengers survived the torch. Thanks for the info! Clayton Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-18-02, 11:26 PM (EST) 10. "RE: Paging 3D Trains (Marc Nelson)" Already have the CRR F's covered on 3DTrains (currently a 3-unit set soon to turn into 4). They've got something TA's haven't: accurate details modeled for CRR (not knocking TA, just that I built the F5's specifically for the Clinchfield) Cheers!
